Oil change - dealer or shop [GVA]
Where do people change their oil? My car is out of warranty, and I am contemplating whether I should go to the dealer for the oil change or use non-dealer mechanic.
One advantage I can see with the dealer is the service record. When I was buying the car, I was able to get the full service record printed, since the dealer maintains it. I think this is handy when trying to sell the car. On the other hand, a mechanic may be cheaper / better? How much do oil changes go by? Suggestions in GVA are welcome. Thanks! |

My car is in today for its last free oil change. After that I will change it myself as I don't really trust anyone too much.
As for taking it somewhere, I don't know about Canada, but around here dealers have pretty good oil change specials-- like $69. |

You still have a service record if you don't go to a dealer.
1) The indy shop will have you on record. 2) You keep the receipt and put it in a binder.
