And another thing I forgot to add. On startup the ECE sign is dim lit compared to the number but then it becomes bright and prominent when speed limit is detected on an actual road.

Cant confirm your faults and problems here, but I cant speak also for the Chinaclone.
If you order the SLI Unit from the Romanian shop, you could mention if you want a coding for non-ECE (e.g. Asia or US) and if you forgot, the unit holds jumpers as I read here before and could confirm that to change this afterwards. Hence the datas are coming entirely from the NAV database, that means fixed speed limits, older limit zones and borders of all kind of cities/locations, the display of the allowed limits is taken from there. Into certain speed limit zones the red circle with the allowed speed is displayed, after leaving and entering a motorway into Germany, the speed limit is raising to 100km/h but not disappearing. When entering the highway w/o speed limits, the red circle is disappearing and only the mentioned 3 --- are visible. The only deviation I'd seen was the red circle with the 3 dashes after entering an old speed limit zone which was removed meanwhile and the database knows that but displays the red circle though, maybe a bug. If you want to display MPH, you have to change the units via iDrive and thats it, if you are located into e.g. in GB this works fine, also at the HUD. If you are into Asia or US, the correct NAV database software must be installed and EUROPE NEXT (or similar) would not work. Afaik the SLI emulator would interpret and display all kind of received non-ECE data not the way you're expecting, that includes from the NAV database delivered MPH data and theres no converter to change this, except you're be able to jumper this into the right way.

I am waiting for mine to arrive. WAs it easy to fit. What do you need to code?[/QUOTE]
Thanks Dang3r ! The unit was easy to fit in hindsight compared to Other mods I have done. I was an idiot in trying to pull the entire sleeve and the wires attached to the kombi. Instead make sure that you look at the sleeve that came with the new sli and you will notice that there is just a little notch/tab that you press on and the wire harness will come out. Do not yank on the sleeve connected to the kombi itself. You don't need to touch the other 2 harnesses which I think are the fiber optic and not sure what the other one is. So the only harness you need to pull out is the one to the left most side. It will make more sense when you have the sli unit in your hand to notice a similar wire harness in the unit. I have a HUD so the space seems tight there but I velcroed the unit on the small metal plate right under the tube shaped object running horizontally. Wish I had taken pictures. Make sure you have masking tape at the bottom part of your dash so that the tabs of the kombi don't scratch the dash when pulling it out and pushing back in again. Another thing to keep in mind is that screws and metal tabs for the kombi on the top must be realigned before you push and screw the kombi back in. These are just the issues I learned from when installing. You do need to VoCode 8TH and the fdl code the kombi I think. There is a post earlier in the thread that I mentioned what I coded I think. |

HI,
I received my SLI Emulator from China and unfortunately it didn't come with instructions. My vehicle is a 2016 F26 X4 35d. All I need to do was to add 8TH to VO, then CODE HU_NBT2 and KOMBI ECU's, I mean CODE the ECU's, not FDL Coding. Now have it fully operational and showing SLI in both HUD and KOMBI (instrument panel). Cheerz |

For me the numeric value is correct. But the units are not. And that is in the cluster.
The HUD shows just the numerals. My I drive is set correctly to miles. So I know that is not an issue. |

Hi,
Yes, you're correct, I found the required coding was added when you CODE both HU-NBT2 (for me) and KOMBI ecu's with the correct parameters. Cheerz |
