Is anyone running this system? Experiences?
DETAILS: +14 HP and +13 lbs. x ft. Torque max gains Constructed from 100% hand TIG-welded, 3" to 2-1/2" mandrel bent, brushed finished 304 stainless steel tubing Includes a factory style exhaust valve Utilizes a unique high flow, transverse muffler with a high-temp powder-coated black finish Includes dual 4" diameter, polished 304 stainless steel tips Factory style V-band flange for a secure leak-free seal Uses all factory hanger locations for a hassle-free installation http://afepower.com/afe-power-49-363...ystem#overview Sound Clip EDIT: My experience Took 5 weeks to arrive Just installed Sounds great! 10/10 sound When the flap is open it's pretty much a straight pipe from the cat back. Will link video when its up. Some things to note: - Fitment is pretty good. The mid pipe hugs the right side pretty close. Worried on some bumps it may tap the side heat shield. - We had to bend the hangers to get the height of the tips the same but we couldn't get the tips the stick out the same length. The left tip sticks out a bit further than the right tip. This could be how we installed it. Need to go back and tinker with fitment more - The exhaust flap RATTLES like a tin can in a hurricane on a cold start. The first start up was more rattle then rumble. Will contact AFE to see if there is a simple solution. Once the car warms up though the rattle goes away ------ EDIT: FIXED exhaust flap rattle by bending the clip that connects the motor and flap Photo included later in thread ------ The sound alone is pretty amazing. I do over all like the exhaust. From behind its throaty and mean, lots of burbles and pops! The burbles and pops go away when in comfort mode. In the car, windows up, the cabin noise is only a notch louder, so you can still have a conversation and listen to music. First half of this video is the install!! Enjoy. |

I have the first original one produced with R&D. I love it. Highly recommend it. The valve function is awesome. Only complaint is that sometimes during cold start the valve will rattle until it warms up or is opened. But that is probably my fault for maybe not securing it tightly when installing. If I cold start it and get on the ground and hold my finger to it, it'll stop rattling. I just never cared enough to try and fix it because I always run with the valve open with jb4 canflap. I have videos of how it sounds but not uploaded online so not sure how to post them

Looks well made and seems to be the most affordable valved catback on the market.

Remus or AWE or Dinan or MPPSK To compare the sounds The sound clip they have definitely sounds good, but nothing really translates well through video Thanks for the input |

MPPSK is a Flash Tune and Catback exhaust. But you cant only opt for the valved catback, its a package deal. And at that point youre looking at ~$3500. Although it does sound nice. I havent heard Remus or Dinan in person but have heard very good things about the Dinan system. Not too loud but aggressive (AWE being louder).

The welds on this thing are straight porn. Very well made. Not sure what they're charging for it retail, but if that's true that it is the most affordable full catback option that is valved, it should be a no brainer. Pull the trigger. No cutting or welding required at all. Fitment is 100% perfect, bolts right up to the DP and hanger placement is on point. Tips fit perfectly in the bumper cutout. 3" straight pipe up to the axle where it splits to I believe 2.5". One half of the "Y" is straight piped out the driver side exit, while the other goes through the (small) muffler. When the valve is closed it forces 100% flow through the muffler. Open, and it's definitely over 50% flow all straight pipe. I have tons of pictures and videos of close ups, revs, and pulls/races if you message me your email I'll send you some.

I was about to purchase this last week when they had 10% off on their site for July 4th sale... I had all my credit info in, all I had to do was click purchase! Looks/sounds like an awesome system, especially as it has a valved straight pipe on one side (similar to an MPPSK) but the sensible side of me said not yet - can use that money elsewhere for now
KD07, upload those videos to YouTube and share em here! Would love to see/hear your exhaust.

Not peak though. Their dyno shows the max hp/torque is relatively unchanged, however it makes a bit more power across the power band. But I'm still in agreement with you, I think 14hp is a bit much.

Update
Ordered this 4 weeks ago...
they are made to order atm. So I was expecting a lengthy delay, initially only 2-3weeks to my door. However, just found out there's manufacturing delays? So it won't ship until Friday. If they hold to this, then the total time would be 5 weeks to my door from d.o.p. |
