Afternoon guys,
I've installed these this afternoon, but can't get inner indicators to work, I've coded Flashing Rear: REM 3061 FRA_H_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG /nicht_aktiv REM 3061 FRA_H_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG /nicht_aktiv REM 3061 FRA_H_L_IS_LED /aktiv REM 3061 FRA_H_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG /nicht_aktiv REM 3061 FRA_H_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG /nicht_aktiv REM 3061 FRA_H_R_IS_LED /aktiv Reverse lights: REM 3061 RFS_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG /nicht_aktiv REM 3061 RFS_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG /nicht_aktiv REM 3061 RFS_L_IS_LED /aktiv REM 3061 RFS_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG /nicht_aktiv REM 3061 RFS_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG /nicht_aktiv REM 3061 RFS_R_IS_LED /aktiv Brake lights outside: REM / 3061 / BL_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG /nicht_aktiv REM / 3061 / BL_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG /nicht_aktiv REM / 3061 / BL_L_IS_LED /aktiv REM / 3061 / BL_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG /nicht_aktiv REM / 3061 / BL_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG /nicht_aktiv REM / 3061 / BL_R_IS_LED /aktiv Interior Brake lights: REM / 3061 / BFD_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG /nicht_aktiv REM / 3061 / BFD_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG /nicht_aktiv REM / 3061 / BFD_L_IS_LED /aktiv REM / 3061 / BFD_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG /nicht_aktiv REM / 3061 / BFD_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG /nicht_aktiv REM / 3061 / BFD_R_IS_LED /aktiv Rear fog lights REM / 3061 / NSL_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG /nicht_aktiv REM / 3061 / NSL_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG /nicht_aktiv REM / 3061 / NSL_L_IS_LED /aktiv REM / 3061 / NSL_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG /nicht_aktiv REM / 3061 / NSL_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG /nicht_aktiv REM / 3061 / NSL_R_IS_LED /aktiv Followed BMW instructions to the letter and everything else works fine I have installed the wire adaptor kit with wires for the inner indicators going to REM sockets 5 & 13? (on another installation guide it uses different locations in here?) Any help would be great. Also so should there be a brake light on the inner lamps? Many thanks |

I will apologize first for the long post and the repeating information in advance. I am having the same issue as Jus71n. I did everything per BMW's installation instructions. The only other option is moving A3 and A4 wires to another location –
Hardware Tailgate tail lights, Left A3 BFD_L to A174*13B Pin 5 A3 BFD_L to A174*12B Pin 17 [ Spot is already taken / splice ] Tailgate tail lights, Right A4 BFD_R to A174*13B Pin 13 A4 BFD_R to A174*14B Pin 12 [ Spot is already taken / splice ] My understanding is that you would have to splice into the existing wire at those locations. The plus side would be no programming since it is tied directly to the left and right blinker. The negative is that you are splicing into an OEM harness. Software In the 'Facelift lights retrofitting' instructions from BMW it states that after installing the lights, 'the retrofit system requires programming/coding'. It goes on to further say that -
I've manually coded – Flashing RearI also tried – [ 3062 ]So after all of this I am tempted to splice into the other wires. I was not sure if anyone had any suggestions or clarifications? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! |

Thank you elgydium Magnificent Did you succeed ? Here, learn to add HO-Wort HELC and VO Coding REM: 1. E-Sys => Expert Mode => Coding 2. Read FA => Name FA "HELC.xml" => Save FA => Edit FA (FA Opens up in FA-Editor) 3. In FA, Right-Click on HO-Wort => New => HO-Wort 4. Add "HELC" 5. Right-Click on FA at top of VO => Calculate FP 6. Verify in Vehicle Profile [x] Aftermarket_Fitment => [xxxx] HELC_LCI_REAR_LIGHT 7. Save FA 8. E-Sys => Expert Mode => Coding 9. Load modified "HELC.xml" 10. Right-Click on FA => Activate FA 11. Read SVT (VCM) 12. Right-Click on CAS (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE. Oem bmw A3 BFD_L to A174*13B Pin 5 A4 BFD_R to A174*13B Pin 13 Last edited by david51; 09-27-2017 at 08:20 PM.. |

The *13B module does not work for me, only splicing the exterior break lights or the *12B & *14B modules. I'll hit the shops tomorrow and see if I can find any Skotchlok connectors or else it's the ghetto option for me lol Tho I am thinking the coding option, I like a challenge. Last edited by Oversight; 09-27-2017 at 08:58 PM.. |

I don't get it, isn't the retrofit cable with coding is enough for retrofitting, or this method is replacing the need of the retrofit cable?

I’m about to give this a go but need clarification on feeding the retrofit cable up the tailgate and into the boot to the REM. Did you remove any trim panels inside the boot to route the wires? Thanks |

Can you tell me location of the D pillar. Is it the trim panel inside the boot where you need to feed the cables down to the rem? Thanks |
