Do you have any idea how I would attach it to my car without the plastic thingy at the base of the gaiter,....? Once I know how I can secure it properly at the base of the gaiter to the housing, I'll buy this off you straight away!!!!

Thanks for your reply Sir. I'm guessing what I would have to do to get this installed correctly is, remove the staples from my original gaiter, and then install the plastic onto the new gaiter using super glue.....? Or is the plastic a seperate part I can purchase somewhere...?

Hi mate yes you will need a plastic trim bit
U can use your old one ,by simply pushing it around trim and fitting in ur car u won't need to staple it I haven't with my new gaitor hope this helps ( at the bolton of the leather there is holes to fit into the trim so won't need staples) |

I know I was lucky it popped up around the corner from me and was heated, only thing is the electric bolster adjustment on side isn't working so I need to do abit of homework on how to make it work I'm pretty certain its will be easy fix think I just need to run a live to the switch, fingers crossed anyway |

Hey Mike, I was going to buy that gear knob off you, but, then I stumbled across the M Performance one you've got funnily enough, and the size of the M Perf one just looked too awesome to resist. I saw that the price for an F30 one is around £170. So like the cheap skate I am, I bought the one for the F10, which strangely was around £100 less at £69.My plan is to try and force the gaiter of the F10 M Perf gaiter into the housing of my F30, but, if that fails, I'll have to do a Frankenstein mix. Meaning, I'll use the gaiter from my original gear knob, along with the new F10 M Perf Gear Knob. I can't totall see why you upgraded. It's such a short shifter.

Unfortunately, I'm still waiting to get my car back from the garage, which really sucks, because, the F10 M Perf knob arrived about 2 days ago, and I am ITCHING to install it. I will be sure to post pictures. I think if F30 drivers can get a M Perf knob for £100 cheaper than the going rate, then that'll put a lot of smiles on a lot of F30 driver's faces. Worst case scenario, I'll use the leather gaiter from the standard knob, or, I'll just use the plastic bit that's stapled to the standard gaiter, and staple or glue it to the F10 M perf one. Either way, I'm confident that this upgrade will be a major success, and one that saves me £100 as well.
