The blpwer sounds like a dyson.

Demisting the windscreen this morning was interesting.

Any one know how to access the blower to check if a leaf is not stuck there?

Thanks

Look at http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1415353

Had exactly the same issue as you a few weeks back.

Easy fix.

So is it near the centre console side of the footwell or toward the door side?

Thanks for the link! Will take this on tonight.

It's fairly obvious once you've removed the lower trim piece - I'd suggest removing the pollen filter first (nearest the centre of the car) then the motor / fan.

Make sure you have a decent torch.

Done. The back torx screw is a pig. My screwdriver was too long. Luckily people just buy me DIY stuff for xmas so I had three sets of precision torx sets to choose from. Leaf removed!!! Gauze installed! Plastic hamster wheel cleaned.

Thanks big foot

Just a quick check if I may

Is your an earlier model 2012 or so because there was a free retrofit available to cure the leaf in tubework issue.

Involved fitting a new grille - had it done to Mine worked a treat.

Same as my one was.

They should be able to check on the history if it was fitted or not. Might be worth having a chat with your friendly dealer.

Unsure if it was a case of doing them all or just those that showed up with an issue.

Think i read a thread on this forum about it - few years ago unfortunately.

I had (embarrassingly!) the same fault a couple of weeks ago, it turned out to be a parking ticket from August that had gradually slipped down through the top of the dashboard to the blower housing, horrendous noise and vibration on the day on the passenger side vents, until taken apart and cleared by the dealer. I now put the tickets in a non slip plastic cover to avoid a re-occurence.

Would it be listed in here as it wasn’t a recall or do all cars - only those that were affected ?

Thank you

Are you allowed to share what these QE's were please ?

Always interesting to know the history when you're not the original owner.
