BMS N55 intake still have idle issues??
Hello.
I am considering ordering a BMS intake for my all stock 2014 f30 n55. Mainly for an upgrade in sound. I know there are a few threads about rough idles issues but these are mainly from 2015 and earlier. Do these issues still exist?? Can I expect the intake to run smoothly with stock ecu and no other mods? Thanks. |

To be 100% honest you will never know until you install it on your car. Each car is different, some run fine others have issues with this intake.
If you have a JB4, it will run fine on your car (with MAF removed). If you dont have a Jb4 get a closed intake or the CTS intake

+1 for CTS Intake! I have had it on my car for about 8,000 miles! No issues what so ever ! And the sound! OMFG!

I haven't really heard of idle issues recently.. Do you have the JB4 installed? With JB4 there is no issue.. Only if stock and running just intake. Mike |

since most people who say no issues state they removed the MAF and/or have a JB4, the answer is YES..There are still issues with idle and potential CEL

Well no JB4 installed yet. On the car for 8,000 miles, was the first mod I did. And no problems whatsoever. CTS Turbo intake.

I'll tell you, the blow off noises are very loud. was not expecting it to be this loud. The stock airbox really does silence the intake. I have 200+ miles on it so far and no issues with CEL. Install was very easy and i just took my time to align the parts so they fit right. There is one wire on my car i had to move up where the heat shield hits but it has enough slack that i didnt even cut the ziptie holding the wire. its the wire near the 8mm nut closest to the firewall that you use to mount the heatshield.
