As we are announcing today MHD for F series, we would like to use this official thread to gather discussions, updates, user logs, dynos and videos. Community feedback has helped us shape the best tools and maps for E-series, so we're counting on everyone to repeat the same joint effort.

MHD Flasher F-Series (N55/S55/B58/N13)


The MHD tuning team is proud to present its latest product - the MHD Flasher for BMW F-Series. After two years of development, the wait is finally over! The MHD Flasher F-Series is a complete flash tuning app for your BMW. Unlike a piggyback module, it is capable of complete DME remapping while retaining all OEM safety mechanisms. This allows for maximum performance,maximum safety, and unrivaled drivability.

Full OBD Flashing:
You can install MHD right at home and start tuning immediately! There is no need to remove and send out your DME for a costly “unlock.” Simply download the MHD Flasher F-Series app that connects via a K+DCAN cable to your Android device and your vehicle’s OBD-II port, start the app, and within 15-25 minutes the initial installation is complete. Further map changes are much faster - only 1-3 minutes! You can revert your vehicle to the factory OEM flash at any point, and no initial backup is necessary.

Stage 1, Stage 2 und E85 OTS (Off The Shelf) Maps by PureBoost:
We offer a wide selection of OTS maps for the N55 PWG, N55 EWG, S55, B58 and N13 engines suitable for many different vehicle modifications and octane levels. They have been extensively road and dyno tested, just flash and go!:

N55 EWG* (Vehicles built after 07/2013 with electronic wastegate):
  • Stage 1 (up to 360HP/540NM) - 91oct/95ron, 93oct/98ron, 95oct/102ron, for stock cars. (not available for M2 and X4 M40i)
  • Stage 2 (up to 390HP/580NM) - 91oct/95ron, 93oct/98ron, 95oct/102ron, for cars equipped with an upgraded intercooler or high-flow downpipe.
  • Stage 2+ (up to 430HP/630NM) - 91oct/95ron, 93oct/98ron, 95oct/102ron, for cars equipped with an upgraded intercooler and high-flow downpipe.
  • Ethanol Mix Maps: Stage 1, 2 and 2+ E20 Maps for ethanol blends of 20%

N55 PWG* (pneumatic wastegate):
  • Stage 1 (up to 340HP/540NM) - 91oct/95ron, 93oct/98ron, 95oct/102ron, for stock cars. (not available for M2 and X4 M40i)
  • Stage 2 (up to 370HP/580NM) - 91oct/95ron, 93oct/98ron, 95oct/102ron, for cars equipped with an upgraded intercooler or high-flow downpipe.
  • Stage 2+ (up to 400HP/630NM) - 91oct/95ron, 93oct/98ron, 95oct/102ron, for cars equipped with an upgraded intercooler and high-flow downpipe.
  • Ethanol Mix Maps: Stage 1, 2 and 2+ E20 Maps for ethanol blends of 30%

S55 (BMW M3 / M4 F8x):
  • Stage 1 (up to 530HP/700NM) - 91oct/95ron, 93oct/98ron, 95oct/102ron, for stock cars.
  • Stage 2 (up to 560HP/780NM) - 91oct/95ron, 93oct/98ron, 95oct/102ron, for cars equipped with high-flow downpipes.
  • Ethanol Mix Maps: Stage 1, 2 and 2+ E30-E50+ Maps for ethanol blends of 30%-50%+ (in development)

B58
  • Stage 1 (up to 420HP/580NM) - 91oct/95ron, 93oct/98ron, 95oct/102ron, for stock cars and cars with gasoline particulate filter.
  • Stage 2 (up to 470HP/630NM) - 91oct/95ron, 93oct/98ron, 95oct/102ron, for cars equipped with high-flow downpipe and no gasoline particulate filter.
  • Ethanol Mix Maps (420-470HP / up to 630NM) - Stage 1, 2 Maps for ethanol blends of 30%

N13
  • Stage 1 (up to 200HP/280NM) - for stock cars.
  • Stage 2 (up to 235HP/350NM) - for cars equipped with high-flow downpipe and upgraded intercooler.

Topspeed limiter removed on all OTS maps.


As an alternative to built-in maps, many local and remote tuners can provide advanced custom mapping for those who have more extensive modifications or unique performance / customization needs.

Monitoring and Logging Module:
Monitor your engine behavior to make sure it is running perfectly using a configurable and very responsive gauge layout. 50+ engine parameters are available at a glance! Activate the logging mode to save the data to a standard CSV file for later analysis using the built in log viewer. Additionally, we will happily provide free logs analysis.

Flash-time Options::
These flash options can be applied to any map directly through the app!:
  • Exhaust Burble: Customize your desired exhaust burble (duration & aggressiveness, min speed, min rpm) and enjoy the sporty sound
  • N20 Map Sensor (on N55)
  • Remove top speed limiter (Vmax)
  • Cold start noise reduction
  • Exhaust flap open in sport mode
  • Limit power per gear
  • Precision Raceworks Coil Kit Support

Read DME Codes::
Track issues by reading the error codes and delete them once resolved. Resetting adaptions is also possible (AFR, VANOS, Throttle, Load Control, Idle, Fuel and many more)!

FAQ:
Q: Can I test the connection before making a purchase?
A: Yes, simply tap the MHD Store button. The ECU connection is checked before displaying available purchases.

Q: Can I tune different cars with one license?
A:Each vehicle has its own unique license (VIN and google account locked), tuning a different car requires purchasing a new license.

Q: Can I tune multiple cars with one google play account?
A: Yes, you can purchase multiple licenses with one google play account.

Q: Can I transfer my licenses?
A: Licenses are personal and stored by google along the account used at purchase time. The purchases are tied by google to the first account and can’t be transferred to a new google account.

Q: Does my Android device need to be permanently plugged to the OBD port?
A: No. Once a flash is performed you can unplug your device.

Q: Do I need to purchase a new license each time I flash a map?
A: No, you can reflash as many times as needed. MHD maps updates are free.

Q: Is a battery charger required?
A: It is highly recommended for long flashes (install, uninstall). A healthy battery will handle short flashes (map changes) fine but the use of a battery charger remains recommended.

Q: How do I take good data logs?
A: Press the Monitor (auto log) button, stabilize around 2500 rpm / 3rd gear (4th on 8 speed AT) with DSC fully off. Mash the pedal, shift at 6500 and 2-3s after the shift into 4 release the throttle. Slow down, stop the monitor. If you want us to review your log, then upload the log to www.datazap.me and send us the link.

I'm curious about the "flash-counter" or whatever it's called I've seen posted on other threads. Could you quickly explain what exactly that means in terms of this flash? I've seen a few posts stating you can only change maps 10 times before you need to reset the ECU with an unlock... Does that apply in this case?

2nd question: Should a car need warranty work at the dealer, flash back to stock does the dealer see the flash or does it look stock to them at that point. Does ISTA or whatever they use raise a flag to see it's been flashed prior?

3rd question: Will this work in conjunction with a JB4 and/or is there any benefit to running this with a JB4 like other flashes?

xdrive have a little more drivetrain loss indeed. We always state crank HP as measured here in Germany. Dynojet equivalent are around 5% lower than that (but not 15%).
iOS is not possible for now because Apple forbids the user of third party USB cables. Once the wireless adapter is done, we'll be able to port to iOS. Most Apple user tend to get a $50 android tablet at best buy and call it a day.

No step needed. Since MHD will overwrite everything, BM3 or stock doesn't matter. You can even log your BM3 tune with the MHD logger.

Yes it will restore MPPK because your calibration identifier is not modified. Not sure about the PS2 ETA question.

There is no limit to the number of times you can reflash. The flash counter just keeps track of this number. Later we'll add a feature to freeze it.
By flashing back to stock you flash the exact same state as you would at a dealership. That said, whatever the tunes (piggybacks included), if BMW really want to dig, then can (in Munich).
We prefer flash only tunes. Terry is likely to develop his own backend MHD flash maps for the jb4.

Whoa, so for n55 EWG, these numbers:

Stage 2+ (up to 430HP/630NM or roughly 464ft/lb tq) - 91oct/95ron, 93oct/98ron, 95oct/102ron, for cars equipped with an upgraded intercooler and high-flow downpipe.

Are at the CRANK (for RWD?)

Any accurate idea for at the WHEELS for x-drive?

Probably 365hp and 395tq, hey? (I just subtracted 15% from the above numbers)

I guess, x-drive is probably -20% so...344whp 370wtq?

Am I correct?
