305Forged
I replaced my stock BMW 403M wheels (19x8 front - 19x8.5 rear) and cheepo tires (225/40 front - 255/35 rear) with 305Forged wheels (19x8.5, ET 32 front - 19x9.5, ET 40 rear) and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (245/35 front - 265/35 rear).
I purchased the 305Forged from a popular retailer known for it's modification bargains for less than $1,000. They are light: 21.6 lbs for the front and 20 lbs for the rear. The barrels are formed using a technique they call "Form Technic", but I believe is about the same as "Form Flow" and "Form Forged" techniques. I love them and don't understand why they are so inexpensive. Perhaps they will fail, but they come with a lifetime warranty (though they don't specify warranty terms and stipulations). Dinan springs. I put a lot of thought into the size of tires I should get. Here is my post on the subject: Tire Size Decision This wheel weighs 21.6 pounds. This wheel weighs only 20 pounds. It weighs 50.2 pounds with the tire on, compared to the smaller stock wheel that came in at 54.2 pounds. Look at the size difference between the 225 and 245 tires. No rubbing with the 245 with a wheel ET of 32. Last edited by lkstaack; 01-16-2018 at 01:16 AM.. |

i have noticed this also with other wheels.
although the flow formed barrel of the 9.5" wide wheel would obviously weigh more than the 8.5" it is just a thin 1" wide ring. in this case, low concavity and low offset must have increased the amount of material at the hub of the 8.5" resulting in narrower wheel being heavier. |
