Ok final question.....how in the heck did you guys get the signal/led wires into the 16pin connector? I just realized my wires refuse to go down and won't full seat in the connector as if they are being blocked

Edit: NVM got it!

Yeah Ive taken several pictures of things like that along the way that have been blockers for me. I will post them here as a resource for others.

My alarm is functioning now......everything but the siren. So just trying to track down why that's not working and then I should be set.

Yeah I have it grounded to the factory harness ground so that should be fine. I grabbed the power wire and ground with the battery connected (not intentional) and got a nice little buzz so I'm assuming it's good there lol.

I have a signal wire running from the FZD. Even double checked the siren connections and all of the connections to the FZD.

Recoded the CAFD files to a different set that also ended in 503 (my I-step). No change.

Starting to run out of ideas other than a faulty signal wire or a bad siren

After arming. Functions as it should and the horn will honk if the alarm is set off.

So assuming that no issues with coding would prevent the siren from working but still allow the alarm to function as it should, it's got to be a siren/wiring issue.

your problem is that you have to activate the alarm output to the siren and not the horn.

Aha! Akustische Quittierung Entschaerfen/Schaerfen

So I will need to change these all to Active = 01. I'll give that a shot! Thank you!

The mount for the 235 will be the same as for the 3 series. So the part number (65759224277) will work.

That being said - check your back left wheel well first! There was no mounting point on the body for my car as shown in the DIY pictures. So I had to fabricate a metal mounting point.

Thanks, but with the bracket you made you realy didnt need the 3 series mount did you? couldnt you just have mounted the siren directly to your custom bracket? If you look up the part number for the 3 series mount on real oem it only fits the 3 series and 1 series... thats why I think on the 2 series the siren is mounted a different way on oem installed alarms. Or am I misundestanding your photos?

I bought the bracket before I realized that my car did not have the mount from the factory. Which is why I suggest you check first before buying it. It is the same mount for the 2 series though. David51 should be able to confirm as he also did this retrofit to his 235 which had the factory mounting point in place.

I kept the mounting bracket on mine because it left room for the wires/plug, where if I would have mounted the siren directly to the mounting point I created, it would not have left enough room for the wires. Hope that makes sense!

Looking at your picture you posted of your siren it seems that the pins in the contact have been pushed out and are maybe not making contact with your siren. The silicon grommets should not be visible when the pins are seated correctly.

The contact should look like this when the pins are seated correctly.

The contacts on mine still clicked into place but the rubber gromments disconnected and did not seat fully in the connector. I plugged and unplugged the connector a few times to check that the connectors were staying in place. Thank you for the idea though!

Were you able to get yours working?

Installed everything yesterday but have not yet made the connections inside the car for the siren. Doing that and the coding today. I mounted my siren on a different place beacuse there was nothing to mount it to on the location you mounted yours. How did you mount your bracket you made?

Just made the connection to the siren in the trunk and the siren is working. I have not coded the car yet but the alarm is working as it should. Before I connected the siren the led in the rear view mirror would blink fast when I armed the car for a couple of seconds and then it would start blinking normaly. Now when the siren is connected the led blinks normaly directly after arming. So if your led is blinking fast for a couple of seconds right after arming that could mean that there is no connection to the siren.
