Why would they made two versions for the headlight ? Love that feature but oh well can't have everything you wanted on the vehicle.

If you bought the app in the past, you get the latest update, and then sometime in late April 2018, you will get a notice to update to the new app. You'll get the notice through the app itself. So keep opening up the app on your phone or ipad in late April to check for the new app which will be free.

As for in app purchases, just go to settings and restore purchases. I just did it yesterday. I had an update and it was called "Carly Old". then I restored purchases.

Not to Jack your thread but also did VIM Bimmercode cost me 34.99 and 26.99 for the obd 2 reader on amazon.....All good so far

Fwiw I ended up using bimmercode. It worked perfectly. Bought the icar2 wifi adapter and the bimmercode app. Does anyone know how many cars you can code with the app? I've done 2 so far and was wondering if there's a Max to how many vins bimmercode app will allow you to code?

For the Carly users, be sure and update. A new update was issued on April 7th.

This is for the pre March 2018 users. Not the new app.

The older users will get the new app later in April.

Apparently, with each new model year and each newer version of iDrive, less and less things are able to be coded. This is a function of the car, not of Carly or Bimmercode.

For example, on my 2018 with the latest iDrive, I can no longer code any more than 3 blinks in the turn signals. My choices are 1 or 3 blinks only.

I can no longer code turn signals in the HUD.

Also no more coding remember last setting in the climate control because now it already does that.

No more anti dazzle in the adaptive LED headlights either.

I playing with the video in motion right now, but I'm not sure that really works for '18 either. Hopefully someone can confirm.

For anyone who uses the older version of Carly, waiting on the new version update.... it's finally out !!

I don't know how it works for Android, but for iOS, here's what I did.
(this is for people who bought the app before March of 2018)

-go to the app store on your device and you should see an update to Carly "old".
-let it update, then start the app on your device.
-there you should see a screen to update free to the new version. Seems you only get the new version of the app inside the app itself AFTER you update at the app store.
-click on the update inside the app and then after downloading you should have 2 versions of Carly on your device.
- Start the new app. The new version will have the "Digital Garage" where all your backups are kept within the app.
-Delete the old version on your device, the one WITHOUT the new "Digital Garage.
-select the type of car to code, then go to settings and re enter you email address for the crash reports etc, and enter your email address for the digital garage.
- Done. Code away.

I am using Carly from last couple of years. Used on my E90 and now on F30. Have coded few things. It is not a full blown coding system however does most of the tasks. I have enabled digital speedometer - can do with true or corrected speed. Have changed the sartup logo in speedo to M Performance. Changed ringer type, removed seat belt reminder gong, disabled 3 gong startup tone, disabled disclaimer in iDrive startup (additional $20 required to enable idrive coding). enabled video in motion. setup auto engine off at idle to be off upon ignition on. overall a neat app. costed me AUD65 for app and AUD150 for the adaptor and $20 for i drive functionality.

Coded Active sound design (ASD) on f30 for m5/m6 setting with loudest possible. I hear no difference in sport mode. Has anyone else tried this new feature?
