N20 Engine Cover Help?
Today I was going to change my sparks plugs so I had to remove my engine cover in order to do so (duh). Anyways, when lifting my engine cover off I found a mechanical box with some hoses attached to the side of it, directly behind the oil cover. What is it? and how do I remove it?

I know this is an old thread, but I didn't want to make a new one.....the circled part. Does anyone have the official name and/or a part number for it? This is missing on my engine cover and I need to get it replaced. Thank you.

As far as I know the part that is circled is attached to the engine cover and cannot be bought separately from the dealer.. You can likely find one from a wrecker and simply detach it from the engine cover or if the engine cover from the wrecker is in good shape just use it.. The nipple towards the back attaches to the hose that is connected to the vacuum pump and the nipple towards the front attaches to the boost solenoid.. I hope this helps!!

You are correct if you have the electronic wastegate. The above system is only for vacuum operated wastegates.

Engine Cover hoses
My daughter got her il changed at one of the usual places and then starting losing oil. Turns out these small hoses were not re-connected. Not sure why they do, but, you will lose oil if not re-connected.
