Having seat based replacement under warranty. Have this for the day.... drives nicely. MSport. No Sport + though. Smaller wheels than my car which give a softer ride... overall I like it!
Oh and you can play with the rear spoiler

Wait! play with the spoiler? As in mechanically outside or can you control it electronically from inside the cabin.

On the GT there is a button by the window switches (Bottom right) - the little wing on the boot lip goes up and down!

The interior is nice in there too. Apparently it's the on 330 GT in the dealers loaner pool!

Install Weekend

I pulled the trigger on some standard performance mods in December and everything finally arrived.

Wagner DP, ceramic coated at a local shop
ER Charge pipe
and the new Mishimoto FMIC

Some notes on the install -
The rear O2 sensor port on the Wagner DP for a 2015 435i is further back than stock which stretches the O2 wire right across the exhaust header. And the FMIC took a great deal of convincing to live in its new home ^_^

Over all Happy with the upgrades and a Stage 2 BM3 flash

Love that color combo! Wonder why...

The 3 GT is a great car IMO and never really got its due. Don't get me wrong I prefer the wagon and the sedan also handles better BUT in certain circumstances it's an excellent option.

GF is a realtor with adult clients in the back seat all the time and tons of crap to haul around. For someone like her the GT is a perfect choice.

Catless downpipe installed
Got remus axleback and downpipe now.
Volume inside the cabin was just a bit louder, but if you hear it from the outside theres a good difference. Love the burbles and random bangs.
Tone seems to be the same.
Havent drived much so cant tell about drone.

I'm a fan of the 3 GT as well. The 5 looked odd.

I drove the 5 - Devon had one marked down so much it's was basically free. I hated it. Saying I drove it is a misnomer. I skippered the blasphemous land yacht. It was some sort of hell bred half breed bastard child.

IMO 3GT has a use case, the odd number Xs make sense, the even number "coupe" ones and bigger GTs should go away.

If we're opening up all options though I'd kill the 3GT here and give us a 5 wagon.

ebay, they all come from china. can't determine who the supplier is. They're all junk so it doesn't matter which seller you buy from.

Had a very reputable local shop install OEM side skirt decals.

$78 on ebay + $20 to ship + $40 to install. Cheap and easy.

This day last week, added Bilstein B8s to the front of my suspension. Replaced the OEM struts.

didn't know that these would raise the car up ~1/2" as seen in the first photo. Rear struts already ordered to even it out.

I love my GT! I came from the F80 M3, and after a short stint with a Tesla Model S, 2018 S5 Sportback, I really came to appreciate having a hatch. It's amazing when you have kids. I originally wanted the GC, but after driving both and seeing the interior space of the GT, I had to go practical. I never knew the spoiler was retractable until I drove it home from the dealer. Reminds me of my 911!

I also really like the 'lifted' ride height. We have a house in Lake Tahoe and this car will be seeing a bit of snow.

I installed my grills today. Just like when I installed them on the M3, I had to pull back the bumper from the top.

Replaced my M Sport Adaptive struts and strut mounts. The front driver's side strut was bad; leaking oil. Changed the passenger side just in case. Fixed the noise/shudder/loose marbles sound from my front end when going over small bumps at low speed.

Any noticeable difference during driving? Brighter? Better light output?
