New Crossed Drilled Stop-Tech Rotors and Akebono pads. (M Blue Calipers)
I just installed the Stop-Tech crossed drilled rotors and Akenbono pads on my 435i. I got tired of the stock set up and all of the dust and noise. I will say this set up looks good and i have hardly had any dust so far. The brake feel is pretty good also. I made a quick video and posted on YouTube about my thoughts so far. Please let me know if you have any questions about this setup.

ECS also has a front rotor that appears like it might be a two-piece floating rotor. They sell them for about $850/pair in 370mmX30mm. They have an ECS brand name painted on them. I wonder who really makes them for ECS? Anyone have any idea? |

I have the 370mm M Perf kit on my car and the stock pads are INSANELY dusty. I put on PowerStop z33 pads front and rear... I can now wash my wheels once every 2 - 3 weeks if I wanted with only a 20 - 25 mile daily commute.

Powerstop are complete waste of time pile of junk brake pads. They squeal like shit and the stopping power is just not there.

They are 1 piece. You can get them from Tire Rack.

I heard mixed reviews on those pads so I decided to stay with Akenbono. I have had their pads on other cars and they always had super low dust. BMW cheaped out by putting those dusty stock pads on the car IMO.

I am a perfectionist. If they squealed they'd be in the garbage. There is not ONE squeal from my car, period. I will gladly record however many hours of driving you'd like. You're reading reviews of the PowerStop Z16 pads... these are Z23 and significantly different/better. I have about 800 - 900 miles on the pads now. Further, I would wager $1000 that you would not be able to tell the original M Performance pads vs. the Z23 pads re: stopping power. Absolutely guaranteed. Seriously. Quote:
I have an E84 X1 M Sport as well w/ stock brakes and BMW pads. When I drive that car I feel like I am going to go through red lights when I stop... my F30 with Z23 grab and bite so much harder. Seriously recommend them. If you're in the SE PA area feel free to come drive the car.

Yeah, I have major OCD too. So I don't understand why a perfectionist would ditch the OEM 2 piece rotors that's lighter for a cheaper and heavier 1 piece rotors. |

The majority of the consumables for cars these days are Chinese, can't avoid it. That said, no squeaking, stops as good as stock MP pads, and literally no dust... I am good with that. Would I run them on my other 800+ HP BMW? No, but that's not the point.
