LCI tail light upgrade - Shadowline or Blackline
Looking for opinions and thoughts on upgrading my 15 LED tails. I have a Carbon Black metallic GC and want to swap up to LCI, figuring while I'm at it I may entertain the shadow/black line options. Yes, I'm aware of coding etc that will be necessary. I'd like to know of pros/cons to either and am curious of what the community has to say...
Thanks in advance |

I think the blacklines look best on black and blue cars.

I have the M performance tail lights and I think they look really good on lighter colored cars but think they look good on any car. It's just a matter of personal taste. You can code the red strips to stay on with your DRLs which I think is a good idea.
What I personally really like are the amber turn signals. That was the primary reason I went with M Performance tail lights. BMW showcases the M Perf tails with a white car for a reason: I think it looks good on silver as well: While they look fine on darker cars, I think solid red looks better on darker cars. Just my personal opinion though. My opinion changes depending on the time of day, though. |

I like the look on white/light color cars. On black I really can't decide if they look sleek or RICE. I tend to prefer understated, and these look like they are trying too hard.

I personally like the blackline on black.
The only color Im really undecided on is Melbourne Red, which is my car color. Been debating for like a year and I'm worried if I pull the trigger, I'll feel like I need black rims, then a black grille, maybe a spoiler....and suddenly a few hundred dollar mod turns into four grand. SHould probably just put the money toward an M2 instead

Seeing OP has a 428i GC.....I don't think Blackline type are available for a 4series or even the shadowline, 1 and 3 series only as far as I know. The regular LCI version is all you have to go with atm

Personally I only like them on grey or possibly lighter cars. Looks way too ricer on the dark colors to me. I like the stock tails on my BSM...

There is only one type of darker lights for the 4 series but 2 types for the 3 series? The shadow line on the pictures earlier on this thread has got white indicators but your 3 series is only darker?
