Heated wheel

Hey guys..would you guys be able to tell if this steering is heated? I have a f10 LCI with heated options minus the paddles..i want to swap out for this to add paddles. seller states its from a 2018 340m. if it is heated, when i swap out, do i only have to code the paddles? also would this fit a f10?..

thank you guys in advance.

If it was a plug at the switch the diagram should show it.. Definitely on mine the wires from the switch were fixed to the switch.

But you should be able to work it out with a multimeter.

There is only 3 pins. Ground, switch and LED.

Mine was on F06 M6GC though.

So you need the short cable with a plug for the switch and the one to go in the back of the SZL too?

Is your switch this part? https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/par...&q=61319384363

It's the same for al 1, 2, 3, 4 series.

It is shown with lead attached and no part code for the separate lead.

Maybe just buy a new switch? it won't cost a lot.

I bought an ebay switch, they never seem to have the cable attached, but it seemed to be impossible to find the cable for sale, so had to buy a new switch from BMW that came with the cable.

Anyone want to buy a switch without a cable? No, didn't think so

Hello

I did retrofit my steering wheel with the vibrator, new cable, and LRE in order to use LDW. I installed the buttons console as well
I have not heater, but in spain.. this is not necessary..

32336787451 vibrator
61319218381 module
32306854771 extended cable
61319268479 buttons console
51459239299 new console molding

In my current SZL 61319351145 (small slot 4 pins, is not wired) but this slot is only for switch heated

I followed the codes in bimerfest this link and I coded with e-sys all parameters

When I start the car, I and touch the boton and the two yellow lanes appears, but few seconds after, de LDW is desactivated and does not work. a msg n HUD and KOMBI appears saying not working SLW

I checked with ISTA and have this msg

030351 K-LIN 16 sterring column switch cluster (SZL): wrong version
030490 Steering wheel electronics module (LRE): Missing LIN slave

I read similar topics about Heated Steering retrofit, but in my case I not going to use this, so this msg are related this SZL. I read as well that SZL need to be recoded, but i'm not sure if not changing the szl like me, but adding new functionalities, I will need to recode.... and how to do (E-sys.. ISTA P)

The guy that I followed he had like most of you, the LRE already in the sterring whel, so I think that this problem can come from a missing code related with LRE
I read this in other forum, here but I applied and noyhing new..

"If you are installed steering wheel Control Unit with Vibration Actuator Motor then code:
LIN_VARIANTE_LRE > lre_tlc
LRE_VERBAUT > aktiv "

Can someone help me ?¿

Can Bimmercode be used to code this, or do I need another program?

Check this to find the part your looking for.

https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/par...&q=51497453333

If you can buy just the wires should be cheaper.

Post 56 page 3 of my build thread shows the BMW part number for switch in package

Im probably over thinking this.

I did this retrofit and the button does nothing. No light, no heat, nothing on the KOMBI.

The car did not come with LDW or heating. However it does have the wires on pin 11 and 9 of the SZL plug. Am I reading correctly that even though these are there, the SZL still doesn't have the power for the heater control? I haven't had to splice into anything yet since my wheel came with the controls and harness. There is a 10a fuse in F48.

Is this really as simple as snipping the heater control power wires and stuffing them into pin 1 and 3 on the airbag connector?

NM, definitely over thinking it. Wheel works great this morning after the car had a chance to sit over night. I thought the coding would have taken effect a little more quickly.

The large white connector goes to the wheel heater. The small one is for the vibrate motor. If you have the correct controller for heater only then it would only have 1 white connector.

The large black connector goes into the wheel power socket (when you have SZL with heater power). The small black connector is the for the LIN control network (single wire) which is already in your wheel as the multifunction buttons use the LIN network too. There will be a piggy back LIN socket in the wheel wiring that you connect this small black plug into.

The LIN network is what the car uses to control all these little modules all over the place.

There is a another small loom needed for the wheel specific to heating / vibrate, but I can't see if it is in the wheel that you have:

Item 5 here: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=32_2161

Not sure about the blue wire.
Really sorry to drag this up from the past, but I’m retrofitting the heated wheel and have what I thought was everything. However, I have nowhere to plug in my little single black wire from the control module.

Any ideas?

I’ve reused my wheel loom so I’m wondering if it’s not present on that (item 5 above needs swapping maybe).

I’ve added the button, added the wheel, added the module, coded and get “steering wheel heating activated/deactivated” on dash as expected - just no heat!

Edit to add. 100% it is that I don’t have the correct loom. For anyone else stumbling on this thread in years to come, f you’re interested Part 32307848337 is what I’ve ordered - steering wheel loom for cars with lane departure/heated wheel. 👍

What if you do not have lane departure warning on car. I added heated msport wheel (car was standard with msport), button and module. coded via bimmercode and light comes on button but no heat. The module does have another single wire coming off it with no place to go. I assume this would be for vibrator? please help.
