Make N26 Burble
I have a 2016 F36 428i and I love it so far. I was checking something the other day and noticed my exhaust has a small burble. Is there any way to make that louder? I would go with a muffler/resonator delete or exhaust but I don't want to make the exhaust drone. Ideally I want something that has a bit more character in sport mode when I'm going at it but isn't any different when I'm going around town or on the highway. Main thing I want is my exhaust to burble a bit louder. Any way to do this or any good "conservative" exhausts that don't drone?

Remus, MPE, AWE, Active Autowerk all good options. And BM3 if you want a burble tune.
Search the forums for more detailed answers and reviews of certain setups.

So you want burbles without the drone? Even though this has been talked about hundreds of times a day for the last hundreds of days.... I'll bite...
You are right, muffler/resonator delete will drone, but you have an n26, so you have two cats that you can delete for more volume, without adding drone. Install a catless downpipe or high flow catted down pipe. Delete the secondary cat. Flash a Bm3 tune and adjust the burbles to your liking. If budget allows and you want some more volume, Dinan and MPE are great axle backs that have a slightly louder, but still mature and drone free tone... False. Some of these n20 models burble more than others, but I have an F30/n20 with a full exhaust (AFE catless DP, Super sprint front pipe, Dinan axle back) and my burbles were non existent on the factory tune. Later I coded in SAT and I now have very very mild burbles (barely audible and only under certain conditions).

My N26 with Active Autowerke exhaust has a very little baby burble. A friend of mine that is N20 with MPE gets more burble out of his than I do. I dont know that there is a cheap fix to get some more noise from it without introducing drone.

That with BM3 and slight burbles is perfect

Welp, I'll chime in...
I have a 320i with loud burbles/pops. I'm catless, magnaflow 3" axleback . I've toyed with the idea of deleting the resonator, no way would I delete the muffler. But I really think for a 4 cyl, my car is plenty loud. |

I may look in to deleting at least 1 cat. My car is base model and has Sport mode but not Sport+. No paddle shifters, but I can put the gear selector in to manual mode and shift using that. Is that considered SAT, or is it something different?

SAT = sport automatic transmission
Loads of info on this topic on the boards already. Not sure how it equates to more burbles though it is good to have - especially if you aren't gonna go with BM3. |

Yesterday what sounded like a mobile concert pulled up to a red light at a busy intersection in Orlando. Turned out to be a slammed Acura with it's rear windows down and speakers sticking out the sides at full blast.

Yup my BM3 out of the box with awe quad exhaust on stock dp actually have to much burble and actually pops gunshot with driven hard. I tone it down tho not to break my stock dp.
Now it sound like a F30 with mppsk installed. I hope that's okay as those run with stock dp also. |

I am not sure really either, but it 100% happened. My guess is that SAT basically = msport and that the msport is mapped a tad more aggressively than the sport line and no line.

I have a 320i and muffler delete right now with barely any pops. My friend has a 328i with a muffler delete and his gunshots. I think it's because of the -28i tune. I want to get some pops out of my car do you think the catless dp would help?
