What kind of air refreshers do you guys use?
I'm trying to find a good long lasting air refresher. Looking for one that doesn't attach to the air vents, feels like it ruins the aesthetics of the dash imo

I use the BMW air fresher with the insert sticks. It blends into the interior very nicely, smells good too. A bit pricey for the kit, the inserts aren't too expensive and do last quite a long time.

These are hardly visible in the vents, especially if you stick them in the rear console vents where only rear seat passengers could see them:

No matter how clean you keep it eventually the AC coils will get stinky, to the point that even changing the cabin air filter won't help. Vent air fresheners will cover up the stink if it's not severe. When it gets intolerable the only cure is to clean the coils. I use this:
https://www.lubegard.com/products/koolit-evap-cleaner/ You have to lift the car and drop the bottom shield to get at the AC drain tube. I do it when I change my oil, since I have to lift the car anyway to do that. |

Same here with scent sensitivities - hate it when some woman (or guy) with strong perfume or cologne enters the elevator I’m in ... cough, cough, cough!

I don't use any in my car. I also don't have a really stinky A/C yet so that's good. I usually just clean/vacuum my interior twice a month unless I take the car on a camping trip. If I take it on a trip, it usually get cleaned upon return.

Agree with others on keeping the car clean. Always worked for me. If nothing else, spray a little Febreze on your carpet or headliner every now and then. If you have a nasty odor, it is probably absorbed into one of those surfaces.... assuming seats, etc... are clean.

I used diluted CG New Car Smell, sometimes I mixed it with some Stripper's Scent or Honeydew, both from CG as well.

I have found the CG scents to not last long at all. Won't buy them again.

Yeah, usually around 3 days. It's a spray. I can get about 2 weeks with the New Car Smell, if I use a lot of it after vacuuming, diluted 25 to 1.

Agreed with regularly keeping the interior vacuumed, makes a big difference.
The "leather scent" spray by CG as suggested by a member here has grown on me. A little goes a long way. |

I keep the car clean and the windows open frequently, but occasionally it still gets a little musty.
I like the car air freshers made by Yankee Candle. They these little plastic jar looking things designed to hang from the mirror, but I simply open one an place it under the passenger seat. Works well and the sents are not overpowering. There are a pretty wide selection, but I like the pine sent you can only find in the winter months. |

I use the Little Tree leather scent under the driver's seat. Change about once a quarter.
