What Seamaster are you thinking of selling?
Original (ie not a cheesy Bond) Seamaster 300m professional (just had a full restore service) and Planet Ocean GMT.

I'm certain there must be a pic or 10 from me in this thread.

They've hiked that one up to £6350 with 2 recent price rises!

Anyone know where I can get a Maurice Lacroix serviced in/around London?

The only place that have quoted it me so far is H. Samuel who want £475 + money for any replacement parts (needs a new strap) which seems excessive for a watch that costs £600 new.

I was looking at a Breitling Superocean or Omega Seamaster 3. I want a rubber or leather strap as i have metal Tags etc already...the Omegas seem better quality to me in a similar price bracket and you get the see though backing on Omega?

Yes Sapphire case back and incredible 15,000 Gauss on all recent Omega's, that's virtually magnetic resistant really. Most auto's are even slightly affected by the magnetic closure on a laptop screen (right by your wrist).

After years of wearing 'sports' watches, I bought a 36mm Datejust on a jubilee bracelet, just so I had something a bit more dressy.

I ended up wearing it all the time, really, really liked it.

So much so, I decided to get the 41mm version, and on the oyster bracelet, thought that would be an even more usable watch.

However, although I do really like it, and love the way the blue dial changes colour so much depending on light, I sort of wished I had got a whit dial on jubilee.

It's not a wind up. It's the name of the watch. Black Bay 58. Not bought as linked to a BMW engine. Honest!

Interestingly, from my son's future "inheritance " it's his favourite watch.

I would much rather go for the Explorer, but all personal.
Air King looks a lot smaller than it is, black face and lots of numbers make it look smaller than other watches.

Explorer is much cleaner looking, and far more desirable on the used market if you want to swap.

I do also like the Explorer - something about the Air King really tempts though!

I'm new to the whole watch scene, but I understand the Air King is quite a divisive model in the Rolex world?

Have you tried a few on yet?

I would do that.

I like the oyster perpetual, the Rhodium is great, the new white dial is also really nice.
I love Datejusts now more than ever. I'm getting a bit bored of some of the sports watches, the subs, Sea Dweller etc. will always be classics, just that I have had them for 20 odd years and with the Classic models getting a bit bigger it has changed things a bit.

I would definitely go and try them on, quite often they look very different on the wrist.

The thing with photos is they are normally 5x bigger than real life, the Air King dial can look a little cluttered on real life.

Of those two, I'd have the Explorer every time.

But, when it comes to watches it's absolutely a case of ETTO.
