which engine?
I've got an appointment Thursday for my B46 running stage 1 - 93 octane. Going to do the first run stock, then flash back for the last two runs. Hoping my snow tires don't mess anything up. |

Which engine?
Few people would waste time/money dynoing a stage 1 tune. You'd have to run the car with a stock tune, flash the DME, then run again on the same day on the same dyno in the same conditions to get a real comparison. There is a very noticeable bump in power especially in the mid-range where you spend most of your time. It's incredibly easy getting a lot of power from a modern turbocharged car. You could spend thousands in mods on a naturally aspirated engine and not get as much power as a stage 1 BM3 on N55. Most people seem to mostly concentrate on peak HP numbers when it's really the area under the curve that matters most. Peak figures may not be that much higher, but you are gaining a lot of real power in the lower engine speeds. |

Or even a tune on a 6 cylinder engine running Premium 91 octane in Denver is going to give you the same increase as Premium in Los Angeles? Or even Premium 93 in Texas? Seems you need to understand the basics before asking the questions you pose. |

Everyone is throwing different numbers for different reasons. Motor, fuel type, dyno conditions, the car itself won’t be the same whether it be b58 vs b58. That’s why bm3 gives you a percentage increase range on their webpage.
