New tyres
Morning people,
Just bought an F36 GC which needs a new rear (will probably change both at same time). Currently on Potenza 255/35R19 and these are the first RF I have ever experienced. I wouldn't say the noise is too loud (as most of time radio on) or the ride harsh. People seem to be either recommending Eagle F1 RF or the MPSS (various). Just wondering what you guys think of these two, or recommend a different make. I don't really drive fast and most of the roads I do are around town, A roads and M6. Thanks in advance. I've just had the rears done on mine. Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 (non-RF) feel good so far and are highly recommended for wear. It cost me £260 to do both rears through blackcircles (19inch on 340i)

Just stay away from the Potenzas - wide regarded as one the all-time crap tyres. People can get long life out of them but grip and traction are poor and they're noisy.

in the UK roads are mostly wet and are mostly noisy
so a non runflat with good wet grip is the safest bet. I have Michelin pilot sport 4 NOTE pilot sport 4 NOT 4s as the latters wet/cold performance is inferior to the former. I also hear positive comments about eagle asymmetric f1 but i stumped up the extra cash for Michelins which had 1000s of glowing reviews and I am not 1 bit disappointed. |

Costco have upto £100 off 4 Goodyear.
https://www.costco.co.uk/goodyear-promotion Ends tomorrow but if ordered before then can be fitted at a later date. Upto £100 back on Michelin https://www.protyre.co.uk/tyres/michelin. I've got the Goodyear v michelin dilemma. National tyres have 20% off 4 Pirelli P zero which for the staggered 19s would be about £490 If want to buy better than your budget allows there's a number of options. National do Payment Assist and protyre/halfords use Klarna. Both require an initial 1/3 upfront then 2 subsequent payments at 30 and 60 days to clear the balance. If buying online, don't forget to check the cashback sites as most companies will have further discount there. Does it matter if the tyres have an audi or merc logo next to them or do they need to be BM. I would have thought the right tyre size is..... the right tyre size!
