Mate, you got out OK.
Prices are falling through the floor. This coronavirus is killing all retail, I expect to see prices drop 30% or more over the next month or so. |

Yes, to be honest I'm relieved my car sold the week before last. I didn't quite get the asking price - and wondered if I should have held out for a bit more - but with uncertainty building regarding coronavirus I opted to take the bird in the hand and am very glad I did!

Interesting, what did you sell it for and what do you think they have spent on it to get it looking like that?
I'm in the market for one of these and am just wondering how much they are trying to make on each car after their costs. |

In fairness it was always obvious they were a trade buyer although the bloke I spoke to (Adam) tried to tell me they had a detailing department and my car was being bought for someone in that part of the business to use. That never really stacked-up to me - surely a mobile detailing service uses a van not an estate car - and sure enough my car has now appeared for sale on their website (see link below). http://signaturecarspecialists.co.uk...inum-warranty/ As with yours, I can see they've added a black M-Performance grille along with M-Performance side skirts and rear diffuser; however, other than that the car looks exactly as I sold it (which is to say a straight, immaculate, example). And also like yours, some of the description in the advert isn't quite correct; for example, it's listed as having the Visibility Package with adaptive headlights when it doesn't, it just has xenons. Whether they can get the advertised price remains to be seen but if they do I reckon it will be a profit of around 25% even after allowing for the bits they've added; however, it also comes with a 12 month RAC warranty and I'm not sure how much that would cost them to add. Regardless, whoever buys it will be getting a very good car though! |

They dont tell the truth because 90% of sellers end up getting upset somebody is making money on their car.

Its simple market forces, as a private seller, generally you can't sell your car for as much as a retailer can. The majority of people prefer to buy from garages due to peace of mind, part ex, finance, warranty etc, especially when we're talking more expensive cars. Sometimes private sellers need to be realistic.
