Hello Mike ,
Didn't want to thread jack someone or make a new thread. Brought the car 2 years ago and got a deal for the mppk for my 2015 435i. Don't want to lose the upgrade by going flash tune. Never going fbo, running awe exhaust with midpipe. Will probably only upgrade the charge pipe. Is jb4 overkill? If so is the A8 and jb1 the best options? A8 for the rpm smooth power? Thank you |

Since the install of the products I mentioned, I also purchased some exterior cosmetic bits, and more importantly, lighter wheels and stickier rubber. When we spoke today, I was asking about adding an intake with a heatshield of some sort and an axleback exhaust system with minimal drone (taking into account the parts I already have installed). I keep reading that an intake and exhaust combo for this car will mostly improve induction and exhaust noises, and very little noticeable power. What's your advice on an exhaust with minimal drone, with the parts I already have installed? Also, since it's so difficult to get 93 octane in AZ, what would you recommend for a bit more noticeable power, without having to upgrade turbo, fuel systems, etc..? I know I can buy the OTS BM3 93 tune for the times I fill up with 95 octane, but it's so far out of the way, I won't be doing that very often. Would a custom tune from one of the BM3 tuners make a noticeable difference? Or would the next logical step be a costly one (meth, fuel systems, turbo, LSD, etc...)? Either way, I'll likely be contacting you for an intake and exhaust in the near future, once I narrow down the options... Much Appreciated as Always! Here's a pic of my 2 babies =) Last edited by TEST DRYVER; 10-02-2018 at 04:37 AM.. Reason: Added pics |

Beautiful cars!! My favorite exhaust is the REMUS catback. Paid it with an Injen intake and you are set In terms of power, i would do methanol injection

Sorry! Didn't mean to Jack your thread with pics. I will be calling soon to place an order. Thanks for the compliment, seems most of us here spend quite a bit of time, money, and love on our cars...

Greetings All,
I made a separate post about tuning fundamentals and got sent over here- somehow couldn't find this with the search feature. Still learning its likes and dislikes. I did search before positing though. Anyhow, I am trying to learn the logic and intuition behind these products, as well as their value. I will keep searching and compiling information, but in case anyone has it off the top of their head I will ask now: DME- what can we change or not change, how dangerous? how cooperative is BMW? K+DCAN- no idea what this is or what it does. Help? CANBUS- found the wiki article, but again need to intuition behind why we want to use this and what it achieves, and what it does that other interfaces or protocols don't... Tuning MAP- what is actually contained or changed inside a "tuning map" that you download and run? I downloaded and ran a map on my Hondata Civic SI, but didn't really understand what it was changing... EWG-PWG- MHD tuning cites different power outputs for these attributes- why is that? I've gathered this from another post I found too: 2014+ are EWG (Electronic Waste Gate) 2012-2013 are PWG (Pneumatic Waste Gate) EWG allows for better control of the waste gates so he should get the EWG specific JB4 board. MAP vs. TMAP- what is the difference, why do some tuners use one or both? MAF- how does this compare to MAP/TMAP? OBD2- According to Wiki this is all for diagnostics not calibration or modification? Ignition/Timing/Rich/Lean- I've read the wiki articles but I need some real world examples and intuition behind how and why we adjust these variables for improved performance. If you want I can add vocabulary and insights to the word document or keep it separate- I am happy to help compile and maintain a working knowledge base in any way. I love cars and just want to learn as much as possible. Thanks |

I think the initial post needs to be updated with the AFE Scorcher GT. It has the in cabin controller to adjust boost.

This entire thread is quite outdated. I wouldn't really rely on it for up to date information... Some may still be accurate, but i think this thread just dropped off after BM3 and MHD essentially became the standard, and their respective threads are generally updated.
