Tires for 335
Hi,
What are the recommended tires for 335 f30 xdrive. I currently have the tires that I bought the car with. Pirelli 225/45/18. I'm not planning on changing the suspension so sticky tires are preferred. Thanks. |

A little wider and taller to fill the gap.
235/45/18 Michelin pilot sport 4s or continental extremecontact sport for a nicer price. EDIT, sorry conti ec sport doesn't come in this size. Pirelli P Zero PZ4(Max) or Firestone Firehawk Indy 500(Ultra high) for less Last edited by alohasurftoad; 06-10-2019 at 01:29 AM.. |

in the link above, FaRKle! has 235/45/18 on his F31. 26.3" diameter, a little taller sidewall fills the fenderwell better while offering more comfort and impact protection. 10mm more width offers a bit more grip while retaining decent turn in response and will not noticeably affect acceleration by being a little taller(gearing) and heavier. for x-drives, it's a good "happy medium" size on the 18x8 stock square setup. you can run the snow/winter setup in this size when desired. |

It's convenient how tire rack compares all tires and on a 2017 BMW 430i. From few hours of research, Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ is the best tire all season for the car, if I wanted to go cheap G-FORCE COMP-2 A/S is best bang for your buck. $776 vs $668. Michelin Pilot Sport S4 (Summer) would probably be the best tire for the track at $892.
MPS A/S 3+ has UTQG/ware out rating of 500, GeForce 400, MPS S4 300. Meaning MPS A/S 3+ would last longer than the cheaper GeForce tire. man...my rear tires need to be changed like soon! But my fronts are still in good condition!
Dumb question..but I wanted to change them in pairs (rears vs fronts) but since it would be runs versus regular tires...I should change them all together, right? I can make the tires wider on the same stock 18' wheels? |

Just a follow up, I ended up getting 235/45/18 Michelin pilot sport 3+ All Season. I love the tires, they are sticky and work great.
I was only able to throw out the car once on purpose in the rain but xdrive corrected the car. A few times when I had to slam on the breaks, the car stuck to the ground with minimal skidding. In retrospect, I should've gotten 245/40/18 for more traction. Michelin pilot sport 3+ All Season is EOL and has been replaced by Michelin pilot sport 4 All Season. I ended up gating them for my Lancer last week and they seem to be softer and a bit louder than than the 3. |
