Morning/afternoon- depending where you are in the World

I've recently become an owner of a BMW 118i 66 REG and based in UK.

The maps don't seem to have ever of been updated by the previous owner as only done 11K in 4 years on the clock:

Europa
BMW Group
101151.3.412
Road Map EUROPE Route
2016-1

RL_EntryNav_Nav_l_15405A

Previously had a Peugeot 308 and looks like a smiliar procedure. Do I need a Key Gen for my Vin so I can install the latest map?

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
