A few of us seem to be experience this drop in HPFP on the stage 2 bm3 at the min. On pump fuel tested at e5 me and two others in uk are seeing drops to 2200-2300. For me always seems to be around the 3.5k Rev mark for 500 odd revs then recovers to normal. Surely it has to be map related - not a drop I am comfortable
Seeing.

Ok. I will do that. I also tried to log only the parameters that are posted in the beginning of this thread. When I have only those parameters selected, so the graph is not so cluttered with data, it only shows questions marks. Any idea why this might be happening? I have tried several different configurations. The only way I log data is with all of the parameters enabled.

Really not a big deal as you can deselect the ones you don't want in the graph and they wont show up

Yep, I'm experiencing the same thing. I also have an AWE mid-pipe and touring exhaust, so a lot of reduction in backpressure. Perhaps the O2 sensor is picking up the increased airflow at 3.5K RPM and thinking it needs to add massive fuel to keep the AFR ion target, and the HPFP can't handle it? That would explain the rise in STFT around the same RPM.

I'm thinking of just upgrading to the Dorsch Stage 1 HPFP and not worrying about it any longer, this also would make running E85 mixes easier.

I was seeing the drop in rail pressure from 3-4k running E30 stage2 map, and I was seeing timing pull. I went to the Supra pump, rail pressure is rock solid and no more timing pull. MY AFRs were solid on target in both cases. I suspect the DME sees lower pressure and pulls timing, don't know for sure though.

I have since gone to the E30 stage 2+ map running E30 for fuel, I was seeing some timing pull. I have since gone up to E37 fuel, timing is now
perfect, rail pressure is solid too.

You have to get the pump upgrade if seeing pressure drops for sure. This is what I’ve seen as well. Pumps also over time with mileage weaken especially stock ones when pushed.

Yep, you guys are right. I'm going to upgrade the pump.

The top end is ballistic on Stage 2, and I'm really missing that low-end torque with all the god damn throttle closures!

Not an expert, but it looks pretty good, HPFP holding, timing looks ok. You might try a few gallons of some E85, timing might clean up a bit.

How does this log look? I just flashed from stock for the first time. Looks like there were some timing corrections around 5000, maybe because it's a new flash and is still adapting?

Hey guys, so my fuel pressure is dropping pretty bad, currently opened a ticket with BM3 and they’re in the process of sending different tunes to resolve the issue. My question is, how many of you that have noticed fuel pressure dropping are in California?
The support from BM3 said that its reading High levels of ethanol in the system, yet the octane rating is bad. *put on your tin foil hat* is gas quality getting worse in CA?
Anyway the response from them has been great. Seems they’re going to have to lower torque to keep the HPFP from dropping.

*yes it’s a stock HPFP, on ACN stage 2*

Really glad that their customer service is so fast and top notch.

About 700 miles on new plugs and stage2. Kicking myself for filling up at an unknown gas station yesterday. This log was not easy to get due to city, may try and get a better one later on today.

Would love your thoughts however; https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5f9e...729b766fdfa04c

Well I got a new rear diff and found the right fuel I guess.
All values is way better than before when I started to post some stuff here. Guess my car doesn't like 98 ron (93) fuel on the 93 map. I use 100+ ron now.

Rear diff replacement somehow made my car faster too on 1/4, 0-100 and 100-200

Well after a few revisions with BM3 here’s the latest log. (Keep in mind the gas im using is shitty ca 91) torque was limited, the car doesn’t break traction anymore in second gear, but it feels more consistent (if that makes any sense)

BM3 Stage 2 E30. I get a rail pressure drop to ~2,400psi from 2,700 - 3,100 rpm. I can live with a 400psi dip for 400rpm. TU pump is planned shortly.

BM3 timing issues

First time tuner so I apologize for any naivety My timings all over the place. I'm currently in conversation with PTF, but figured I could post here and see if anyone had any advice or if anything jumped out at them.

For reference, I've got a CSF heat exchanger, AP intake, FTP CP, Active Auto DP, and the exhaust that came with MPPSK. NGK 94201s gapped to .022"

After tune (at 39k mi) I noticed the timing corrections, and I swapped OEM plugs to champions originally and gapped to .022", still saw issues and tried NGK ones currently installed. Don't think it's even a little better.

So far I have I will try to inspect my charge pipe installation as I notice the throttle % is all over the place? After reading I feel there might be an o-ring issue on my behalf installing.

This is a daily driver so I would like to have this sorted soon. I don't know how dangerous driving it is, and I have it on stock tune for now.

Put some new NGK 94201s factory gapped and Active Autowerke Catted DP
Ran 93 tune for a while with 100+ ron but it's only available at a few gas stations so back to 91 for me.

Yesterday flashed back to the 91 tune, timing total garbage. Was worried I should have checked the stock gap. I drove about 150 km before doing some logs and I was on 98 ron.

Example https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5fac...90c626e438f26c

Now did some runs again today, after driving again 100 km, everything looks ok IMO except cyl 1. Probably can't be fixed....?

https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5fad...729b116c36c58a

Time for stage 2 however I need to fix the horrible rattle sound on cold start first.

I think everyone who has lots of corrections drive some days with the map first before going WOT

There's nothing too concerning in there. You're getting a dip in the fuel pressure like a lot of us are with stage 2 which is leading to throttle closures early in the powerband.

I dealt with messy logs all summer and most recently the fuel rail drop upgrading to stage 2. I decided to upgrade the HPFP to Dorsch stage 1 and run E30 blends. Logs look amazing now.

Ok good to know and I did read about a lot of throttle closure complaints. Unfortunately I'm not looking to do the HPFP yet (thanks COVID) and would like to just get in a good spot with the OEM one if possible. Also not interested in running E85 because I need to do more research and I'm assuming it's not very practical on a daily driver.

PTF also adjusted the map I was running as a test and I just sent back logs for their review. Timing looks better but the wonky HPFP readings and throttle closure is still there and will probably remain there. Is there anything threatening about that, or concerning?
