I have Andream rev B. This can not be flashed to the Carlinkit firmware. I've been trying to get Andream tech support to add the setting in the main menu. it gives you the option to adjust the level for Siri, phone calls and nav. Carlinkit already has it. Even my janky unichip CarPlay box had this option. in a proper OEM CarPlay integration such as bmw or Honda or whatever, you can change the volume of phone calls by using the volume control, and it will remember the relative level to that of the music. If you search some of my earlier posts in this thread, you'll see I referenced another post regarding the addition settings that Carlinkit has. at this point, I will most likely sell my Andream and buy the Carlinkit because this one setting is ruining an otherwise perfect solution. Andream asked me for a video of someone adjusting the levels on their carlinkit box. WTF?
I have the older version, so I should be able to use the carlinkit firmware, correct? I am hesitant to mix and match because it works pretty well otherwise.

I haven't used AA but in carplay the fix is easy:
- go to settings in your favourite Nav App
- usually there's a section for navigation audio or voice
- set the volume to lowest

In Waze there's a slider volume control so unlimited adjustment

In Google maps you have three options:
Soft --> Normal --> Louder

Change these settings on your phone not in the carplay app

Thanks for the suggestion, but navigation level settings do nothing for phone call volume. In CarPlay, there is a way to adjust phone call levels relative to music levels. Carlinkit has this setting, Andream can't understand what I'm asking for.
No idea mate. I route the calls via cars BT and haven't had any issues with call volume. Believe it's still adjustable using the steering wheel as OEM.

If you try this and still see it out of sync with music volume try this:

Assuming you're connecting to car BT for phone only like me

1- disconnect from Andream and change your audio source to whatever other than AUX
2- make a call and adjust the volume on BT to your liking
3- reconnect to Andream and AUX and test the call and music volumes again

I haven't tried this but the logic should work
How to you use oem bluetooth? When I tried that and had CarPlay connected the audio was screwed up and the caller couldn't hear me. I had to disconnect oem bluetooth and use CarPlay for music and calls.

In iDrive BT make sure your phone is connected for phone calls only (no music or data)

In Andream settings there's an option for calls to go through OEM check that too (don't remember what the option is called exactly but it's obvious). Let me know if you can't find it and I'll take a picture this evening after work

Quick confirmation on what I need to flash

So I have a 2015 F80 M3, Widescreen NBT, Harman Kardon.
I have purchased Andream NBT02B.

I have downloaded
B_V1.0.4-2
But read that this is just an update and won't update all partitions, so should I flash B_V1.0.4 first??

Also, Do I need to flash the MCU with something? as it's not listed anywhere under the Andream B version.

Thanks for any help with this.

Thank you.
Do I need to flash any MCU then?
If so which one?

Cheers

Could this be an issue of the MMI taking time to come out of a sleep/standby mode in the morning? Any other ideas?

TIA

I'm having the same problem (not connecting in the morning).

I don't *know* for sure, but my theory is that when I turn on the car my phone is still connected to my home WiFi, and so it doesn't automatically swap to the car wifi. Like you, mine works when I force a connection, which I normally do when I'm 50m or so from the house.

Annoying for sure!

Thanks I'll check out the levels after testing turning down in the app
I did some testing with this, it seems to have done the trick! The google maps are still a little loud (even though on softer setting) but its a huge improvement. I think I will end up switching to Waze as it has more control on the volume!

I actually had a similar problem, I raised to Andream and they suggested:
Clear all the connections for the MMI unit on your iphone, go to setting on the MMI box (not in car play) and click BT Reset.
Then do the first time setup.

This worked for me.

Quadlock Reverse unit to the back of the CIC and after that the quadlock of the Andream Unit.

For the LVDS Cable: CIC to IN reverse unit, and OUT reverse unit to IN Andream, and OUT Andream to the screen.
I hope this helps!

Interesting. I’ll give it a try... space is going to be an issue probably lol.

A few pages back I've complained of a bricked Andream unit post MCU upgrade. I ended up sending it back to the vendor and getting a replacement for a nominal fee to cover shipping costs. The replace unit appears different physically, eg the Wi-Fi connector is no longer mini BNC but similar to the video connectors but smaller. The unit also came with the latest software as can be seen in the screenshot below.
The new unit is allegedly a B and is much springier than my previous one. The connection to CarPlay is immediate unlike before where I'd have to force. All in all very pleased but would have preferred to have been sent a fresh unit in the first instance and avoided the extra expense and time wastage associated with the replacement. With that said I am now able to install the unit in under an hour even with an HK head unit so that's something to be proud of.

hello Guys

Looking to buy one of these units from china do you have to pay any import/custom taxes when the unit reaches the UK or is it better to purchase through CZ or Spain?
The price difference is around £50 so looking at saving some funds for a rear camera
Thanks Parma

USB charging output?

Does anyone know the exact charging output (AMPs) from the MMI's USB? Would it fast-charge my phone?

I'm curious if it's any higher that my BMW's USB port which is sooo sloooow...

I believe they mark it as a gift / set the value below the threshold but there's always a risk you may be hit with import tax and VAT.

Hello
Thanks for your reply. Its really a case of taking a chance I suppose. Hopefully the UK guys can comment on how many had to pay additional funds to her Majesty !
