F30 N20 motor mounts?

been noticing a vibration lately, I can feel it in my left foot on the floorboard.
engine shakes a bit and funky that it's not all the time. car drives fine, no changes in power or running etc, took a stethoscope to the timing chain area and heard nothing loud or abnormal from there.
but I did take a video of the car. let me know if you think it's motor mounts.

is that too much movement for these cars leading to the culprit being motor mounts?

That's a pretty fair amount of movement. Changing them shouldn't be that bad of a job. Most of the process involves taking off the bottom shield and charge pipe. You may only need to change the left side.

thanks. the other day I put my foot as far forward against the floorboard and i felt tapping under it. and I've also noticed it only does it under certain conditions such as on a hill.

literally no noise under the timing cover at all. I put a stethoscope all along the front cover and along the timing chain areas and heard almost nothing.

A hill puts more stress on the drive train, so a bad motor mount will be more evident there. You don't need a stethoscope to hear timing chain whine, just remove the oil filler cap.

I had some busted mounts on my E92 a few years ago. Was driving about 40 MPH and all of a sudden, it started vibrating like crazy. Drove it about 10 miles home and had it lifted to the BMW dealer (warranty repair). They had it for about a week. but got it done.

It's a safety concern - I wouldn't drive your car with bad mounts.
