Reasonably priced…I had to think of it as a long term purchase and divide the price of the Thule over x number of road trips. Stock BMW bars.
Thank you! I saw the BMW bars on getbmwparts for around $230

How many liters is that? I probably only need a 320 max 420.

Would you mind confirming the model too? Thanks

Thule Force XL (17 cu.ft. / 481 L)

Keep an eye out on eBay all the forums.
If your lucky, used BMW bars can be found around $150 USD.

I have a Thule Force XT (size Large) and a Thule Upride bike carrier and both fit side by side on the OEM bars. Worked out really well for a recent rip to Asheville.

The upright bar on my version is located in the middle and attaches to the bike's downtube. It's nice that yours is at the wheel. Did you need to remove your pedals? Difficult to tell in the pic.

I may find a newer used one, but preferably one where you do not need to remove the front wheel.

Also, what's your suspension (on the car) setup? Sits nicely.

Nice bike! Thanks for the photo too. I saw the Force XL. Appreciate the feedback!

To keep the bike theme going, here's a candid contribution. Don't worry - the bike isn't actually touching the paint!

That being said, I think my time with the F31's is coming to an end. If anyone is looking for a unicorn spec (2019) let me know before I list it places.

Member Shanemcelroy was looking for an estoril blue F31. Not sure if he landed it yet, but might be a lead.

The trip to Asheville was several hundred miles so I took the pedals off so they didn't spin in the wind for several hours. I previously had a bike carrier that attached to the down tube and it always made me nervous clamping down on carbon fiber. The bike carrier that's pictured is pretty solid. Felt confident carving through the mountains in North Carolina with the bike on top.

My car is sitting on Bilstein B8's with H&R sport springs. So far it's been a great setup. It has generally improved the car's ride quality/characters in every way.

Thanks for the info on the rack and setup. I'm running M-Adaptive and Eibach...maybe some Bilsteins are in the cards with an EDC delete in another 20K miles.

Nice did you order this color or found one? I would sell my current f31 for one in this color.

I custom ordered my F31 and you'll have to wait until I sell this 1 of 1

There are only two (2) F31s painted in Champagne Quartz Metallic in all of North America. The other is a 2016 328d up in Canada.
