The M performance kit coding does the same as above but with even higher values for the boost. Edit: NVM the values are the same. Won't even try to comment on the differences between the pre-lci and lci parts.

are you sure the piston sizes are different? wouldn't there be different rebuild kits for a bigger piston, I noticed all rebuild kits are for all years, support pre LCI and LCI calipers.

Here's what the NCD/CAF tool shows me: Stock: DSC_CODIERDATEN_ALLGEMEIN 3000 > C_Variante_Bremssattel_vorne_e = P4.40_bzw_SA104 (02) <-- Front caliper size DSC_CODIERDATEN_ALLGEMEIN 3000 > C_Variante_Bremssattel_hinten_e = IPS_42 (01) <-- Rear caliper size DSC_CODIERDATEN_ALLGEMEIN 3000 > C_Cp_Hinterachse = Default_Alle_Anderen (05) <-- Rear brake pressure boost? DSC_CODIERDATEN_ALLGEMEIN 3000 > C_Cp_Vorderachse = Default_Alle_Anderen (0B) <-- Front brake pressure boost? 2NH/SPBR: DSC_CODIERDATEN_ALLGEMEIN 3000 > C_Variante_Bremssattel_vorne_e = P4.40_bzw_SA104 (02) DSC_CODIERDATEN_ALLGEMEIN 3000 > C_Variante_Bremssattel_hinten_e = P2.44 (02) DSC_CODIERDATEN_ALLGEMEIN 3000 > C_Cp_Hinterachse = 1690 (06) DSC_CODIERDATEN_ALLGEMEIN 3000 > C_Cp_Vorderachse = 3270 (0C) SPBR also adds another change in addition: DSC_CODIERDATEN_ALLGEMEIN 3000 > C_Variante_Tandemhauptbremszylinder_e = 25,40 (02) This translates to "Tandem master cylinder" but I'm not sure what the significance of this is specifically for the SPBR kit? This could be the default value anyway and the tool just doesn't show me properly. Interestingly, if I check the 2NH AND SPBR it reduces Hinterachse/Vorderachse back down to 05/0B??

And yea, the MPBBK doesn't come with any cylinder parts or anything like that, so its curious whatever that value means. Also I've heard that the two options do not play well with one another, i.e. either you want S2NHA or SPBR under HO-WORT. Your experiment seems to verify that, but the reason remains unknown. |

The coding in this graph from the site seems to indicate that a 335i with 2NH from the factory has different coding for the master cylinder than stock or SPBR. You might think that would be because they have different size master cylinders... nope. Realoem shows that the 328i and 335i both have the same part number ending in 1095. So why would SPBR change the coding back down to 25, 40?? I confirmed this is indeed true with my car. Maybe this changes the characteristics of the system without actually physically changing the master cylinder? Screenshot of the site translated. Note that GTZ seems to be brake master cylinder.

I also noticed that in the NCD tool, if I checked the P337A box (which I have) the values for hintenachse/vorderachse do not change from 05/0B when I select 2NH OR SPBR. (???) I think the conclusion we can draw here is that it's best to stick to SPBR if you didn't have 2NH from the factory. That being said, mine is running 2NH and I haven't had any issues. Rather like the brake feel actually.
