Tire circumference and the rim width

Is the tire circumference highly influenced by the rim width?

Currently I have the standard front 225/45/18 on 8" rim (the tire/rim width ratio 225/8= 28.125) and rear 255/40/18 on 8.5" (the tire/rim width ratio 255/8.5= 30) setup.
I would like to go wider 245/40/18 on 8.5" (the tire/rim width ratio 245/8.5= 28.823) and 275/35/18 on 9.5" (the tire/rim width ratio 275/9.5= 28.947).

Just debating if the rim width (eg. 9" vs 9.5" rear) can impact the circumference of the tire to damage the xDrive.
