Electrical issues F34
Hi,
I have problem. 320d Xdrive GT 2016. New battery installed by BMW may 2023. No comfort access. After delivery new Gladen loud system and Defa alarm installed. Last months - the battery was drained 2 times, last time the car was parked 3 days. A mechanic checked, he thought it was the DSP to the sound system. The fuse is out now. Worked well after the car was parked 9 days this time. I went for a ride today, then start and stop was activated and when I released the brake the car did not start - it was like a Christmas tree in the display. I pushed 4 times on start and then it started without any fault message in the idrive. Then the car was normal. Before I leave it to BMW - do somebody have suggestion what I can check? Is there an another battery for start and stop that can fail? |

There are many potential sources of parasitic power drain. A common one is the dash display. Step 1 is to read the error codes. If that doesn't reveal the problem you have to track down the source of the parasitic drain. Google it.

Highly likely it is the DEFA alarm system that is causing parasitic power drain. I've had similar battery drain issues on my other car with aftermarket alarm/remote start system until it was unplugged completely.
Suggest to consider battery tender for all times you have car parked if possible.
