1. Should be fine. I did the same a while back, no issues. 2. Each fuel injection has a slightly different flow rating, thats what the numbers on the outside mean. When you replace, you need to need enter this information into the DME so it can provide correct fueling. If you wired incorrectly, the DME could be thinking it’s controller injector 4 but it’s actually controlling injector 3. I haven’t seen how much slack there is on that wiring harness, but my inclination is that it would be difficult to connect the wrong injector with the wrong wiring harness. 3. Expansion tank is secured by a 8 or 10 mm bolt iirc. Remove the bolt and slide up and out. Last edited by rlesko; 01-02-2024 at 12:20 PM.. |

Just did this job, found it interesting that my F30 did not have as many lines to remove as in the eatsleepdrive YT video...also I had to completely remove my fuel rail...
But I mainly wanted to share a tip for removing the valve cover itself since mine was really stuck in place, I ended up using a heat gun around the gasket and using the sharp end of a trim removal tool and hitting it with a rubber mallet around the front & drivers side until I heard several cracks from the gasket coming loose. If I didn't do this I'm not sure I would have been able to get the cover off. Hope this helps someone! |

I just did my cover + gasket today too after finally receiving it from trash ass autohausAZ. The cheapo aftermarket cover was pretty much as advertised, the bolts themselves were noticeably low quality, an E10 socket has trouble seating on most of the bolts. I ended up having to tighten many bolts with an 8mm. Otherwise, it was a straight forward job with a lot of steps. My CEL came on after install because I didn’t fully seat the Valvetronic connection on top of the valve cover. I didn’t have any issues removing the cover and gasket from the engine block. And god damn those bolts on the valve cover towards the firewall were a real pain to get a torque wrench on.
