Gen 1 catch can
Looking for some guidance on fitting a catch can. I’ve seen the available kits, but I’m sure there has been people who have fitted a universal can and their own lines for much cheaper. Can anyone weigh in?

The cheapest option I've seen plumbs a rubber hose into the factory ccv hose and runs it to a universal can, but it doesn't do much. Our PCV systems run clean when it works, and a catch can itself won't prevent the pcv from failing. |

I'm using a BMS oil catch can and it's working great. Fits perfect with a pure 800 / CTS intake setup. Can fills about 1/4 full per year.

I had the BMS catch can for years. With the 0w20 there was always fluid in there. Since switching to 5w40 there was almost never anything in there, maybe a few drops of fuel or water.
I switched to the Ross kit a little bit ago because why not and I was really surprised how much better the car ran. Third gear pulled way more agressively. The original PCV diaphragm was pretty much shot. I haven't got a single drop of anything in the catch can for months .. I probably don't need the can and should just vent it underneath the car. |

Hi All,
I've been looking for an Oil Air separator System for awhile and couldn't find anything i like. I am always skeptical how well "baffles" can actually filter the blowby gases. So i decided to make my own kit using a Ryco RCC360 oil air separator. Ive always been using Provent 200. That to me is the industry standard. BUT the engine is way to tight to fit a provent 200. After quite a bit of googling i manage to find an alternative, Ryco RCC360. Functionally it is effectively the same as a Provent 200 but has a much friendlier form factor. It is taller but most importantly, slimmer. Here are some pics: |
