E-SYS noob looking to code full screen carplay
Hello guys,
I own a december 2018 f36 LCI (nbt evo i presume), factory spec, no personal coding on it. It has wireless carplay but I’ve always wanted to have it fullscreen (right now it’s split screen and it shows my fuel consumption in the right). I have an enet cable, esys software and I watched a ton of youtube videos and read some forum posts. My question is if I code that myself, will the dealer be able to still add entries to my on-board service history (I heard somebody say that tampering with carplay can pose some problems in this area). Can I break anything beyond recovery by doing it? Do you recommend doing it with engine on? Sorry for the dumb questions, but I’ve never done this. Also, do you have any tips/advice for me in doing this? Thanks in advance! |

You will need to do an IStep update to your HU_NBT2 to unlock Apple CarPlay full screen. You can do it free by yourself if you have E-Sys with the latest full psdzData and a voltage stabiliser.
Once you've done the iStep update, you'll be able to get fullscreen Apple Carplay by FDL coding HU_NBT2. CARPLAY_FULLSCREEN will have to be set to aktiv. |
