There is rust on the inside of the rear fender.
Hello everyone, This is my first time owning a BMW and I don't know much about it.
I have a 2014 model, 318D F31 vehicle and winter is almost over here. (Latvia) When I went to the service to change the tires of my vehicle, I noticed (seen in the photos) that the paint on the inside of the rear bumper was worn and there was a slight rust beginning. Is there anyone experiencing this situation? How should I solve this problem correctly? Also, is there a plastic cover to cover this part of the vehicle? Many thanks to everyone who took the time to reply, |

Thanks for the answer, is there a method you would recommend for cleaning rust? There are some chemicals, but it is difficult to decide which one is effective.

You need not be too concerned about cleaning the rust. Deprived of air it spreads very slowly. The main thing is to clean the area of dirt so that the undercoat sticks to the rust.

Hello, I researched the product you mentioned, it is a quality product. But not in Europe.I need to find another product of similar quality. I think I have to completely remove the rear bumper for this job and check everywhere and start this job. |

After all - it is a 10 year old vehicle.... Some surface rust on the undercarriage is normal...
It does look like something is missing there however... From the photo I am unable to understand where this area exactly is and what is front-aft-left-right... maybe another photo showing where this location exactly is could enable people to tell you if you are missing a cover...
