How big of tire size can I go?
I have a f30 330i, I have the 18s staggered setup. I have 225/45R18 in the front and 255/40R18 in the back I was thinking like 245/40R18 in the front and 265/40R18 in the back is that something that would work? I have stock suspension and stock rims

i'd leave the rear as is and just increase the front to 245/40/18 which is the max low pro tire width for an 8" rim width. |

I also looking for same setup, perhaps 235/245 45 18F, 265/275 40R on M400 wheels. I quite like the design of the wheels and want to stick with OEM plus concept. Here is my post; https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=31061732

imo, 245/40/18+255/40/18 or 225/45/18+255/40/18(OEM) are the best size combos for factory staggered rims 18x8+18x8.5 |

Eventhough they fit, the tyre profile will be on higher side. 245/45/18F might catch the fender liners on full lock. 235/45/18, 245/40/18 or leave it OEM. 225s looks bit stretched, do not wish to increase the ride hight with 235s. 245/40/18 will consider. I might want to find a brand which offer wider fitment. I'm unsure. Currently 50% of tread remaining on them. Rear on the other hand, 265/40/18 should be alright and im already decided. Then again 4mm increase in ride hight but I can live with that on the rear, unless someone can confirm better fitment with wider tyre with a lower profile. They need replacing soon. Currently I'm on EIBACH PRO kit with OE rated Potanza S001 and its practically and aesthetically perfect. Handling and breaking performance are also very good. Nothing much to complain about the ride quality too. Its just that rear needs beefier tyre. I'm open for ideas and suggestions Appreciate your inputs. Here is the current stance. I will update after the fitment. Cheers!

275/40(or35)/18 is too wide for an 8.5" rim
265/40/18 is still too wide for 8.5". If force pinched, lateral performance will be not optimal due to less sidewall support from bulge. If you want wider tires get wider rims such as 513M 18x9 ET29+18×10 ET40 with... 245/40/18+275/35/18 or 235/45/18+265/40/18 or 255/40/18+285/35/18 if you're just seeking to have the tires appear more flush, consider spacers . I will also consider M437s of M2 in the future with coilovers.
