Pilot Sport 4 Zero Pressure
Just had a set of 4 BMW homologated * 4ZPs thrown on and my word, what a difference compared to the Bridgestone SOO1s they replaced. Night day difference in steering feel, ride quality and grip. Incredible. Highly recommended.
I got a good deal through my local ATS directly which was £50 cheaper than ASDA and Black Circles, and I also got a £50 M&S voucher. Still cost me £800 though Premium tyres are just bloody expensive across the board right now. Anyway, just thought I'd share that as I'm impressed |

How do these compare to Micheline PS, if you ever tried?
Personally getting my Bridgestone T005 RFT changed very soon as thread is down to 3mm on fronts, got a set of R18 Nexen Nfera non-RFT that I got for about £330 (can't remember bought set of 4 new for cash from ebay half a year ago) Interestingly, yesterday I have seen BMW iX1 with Nexen tires from a factory, as they considered mid level tire, still fitted to BMW's entry level SUVs.

Great explanation here about how different * tyres can be from a stock equivalent… Always been lots of debate on this but this video explains why they are not marketing fluff and can transform the ride to what BMW intended (from the perspective of high performance cars) - often at the expense of wet weather grip which is a consideration in the UK!

April 24 production date as well, so they feel super compliant and grippy compared to the 8 year old SOO1s that came off. The difference is the same as going from run flats to non run flats, so tyre age has more of a negative effect that brand and remaining tread depth imo. |

I have those on my E53 and they are fine, but can’t wait until they are spent so I can switch to Michelins.

That's it; they do a good job. They're not comparable to premium tyres; but they do what they need to do well enough

TurboWeasel I would be interested in your feedback on the Michelin Zero Pressure tyres as potential replacements for the Goodyears Assy 2's I have at present, the bulges in which fail the MOT every year, so I have to replace tyres before they are worn out.

I have just fitted these, although it would be wise to compare apples to apples (Bridgestones were RFT), but the change is positive and I like it. It feels like trolley got a swap from steel castors to polyurethane castors!

The PS4 ZP is for folk who want to stick with RunFlats as they give the car a more original factory feel compared to non-run flats. If you like RunFlats, then the 4ZP is probably the best option for the F3x platform imo. |

In that case, the 4ZPs will be a good move

If these had been available when I was getting the current set of summer RFTs I'd have gone for them because the Pirelli PZ4's really aren't great. Way better than the S001's, but they're no non-RFT PS4S that's for sure. I'm actually thinking of ditching the setup completely and going for a set of 4x rear 403M's and using 245/40/19 all round. I'd probably stick with RFT's even on those with the bigger sidewalls but the downside is that in that size the ZP PS4's are insane money at near £300 per corner! It's nice that there's still one or two on here looking for a decent run flat rather than straight off jumping to go flats.

Clearly not all RFTs are created equally Firm ride, sure, but not brittle, crashy and thumpy like shite RTFs. |
