Hi,

Looking to buy tyres for my f36 420d bmw, I’ve got 225/40/r19 89y Bridgestone potenza run flats for the front two, what size should I get for rears? I bought the car with 255/35zr19 96Y but apparently it’s recommended to get 92Y. Any help please?

Which alloys do you have? Is your car RWD or xDrive? If the latter; stick with the BMW recommended sizes; if RWD, you've more flexibility on what sizes you can run

Go with whichever tyres you want and suit your budget best; everyones tyre choices are a personal preference really

Jon's tyre reviews is a good website to look over, Youtube videos too for tests and how the tyres got on

If you want to stick with RFTs; then do so; if you don't want RFTs and want to run normal tyres; my advice would be get XL rated tyres and have a decent tyre repair kit / inflator kit spugged away in the boot etc

RWD and they’re the 19” 442M m sport alloys. Would you recommend 92 Y or 96Y?

RFTs or non RFTs?

Go with 96Y if that's what you want; in the big scheme of things, it's not going to make much difference

As an example, 255/35/19 RFTs here on Camskill are all 96Y:

So go with that

Non RFTs are the same; but XL rated:
