ISTA can't initialise the front window
Hi all,
Father in laws 3 series passenger front window wasn’t working. Plugged into ISTA and it shows as not initialised. Went through the manual procedure and then said “part-normalised”. It then worked for the first click up and down, the manual mode. But for auto, it’d do an auto down, but would then hang on an auto up and throw the error again. I tried to initialise it in ISTA but again it goes down, resets and then throws a hissy trying to come back up. Doesn’t even budge. Any ideas? I’m at wits end |

Learned this little trick a few days ago.... Hold the window switch halfway up while the car is running. Keep holding it for about 30 seconds until the window goes down and then back up. Boom. Initialized!
Same process for rear windows, but they roll down and then up twice |

Operating procedure for initialisation (manual):
Deleting the initialisation: Move side window into lower end position. Press and hold switch in ”Open one-touch function” position (second switch position) for between 15 and 25 seconds. Note: Deletion of initialisation was successful if toll function and anti-trap mechanism have been rendered inoperative. Performing initialisation: Move side window to upper end position Pull and hold switch in ”Close one-touch function” (2nd switch position) during the entire process. Note: Re-initialisation was successful if toll function and anti-trap mechanism function flawlessly.
