Rear subframe brace, anyone done it?

Hello--

Found a similar thread for what I'm looking for, but it doesn't have many different opinions on this part. I'm trying to stiffen my chassis, as I may track my RWD 340i. I came across this rear subframe brace. Anyone done this one, or built the OEM f80 one onto the f30 chassis? Here's the link to what I'm looking for.

Thanks!!

There's people that have bolted the OEM brace from the I believe 4 series onto the F30 and they said they liked it. It's basically the same thing.

Rear subframe brace:
33 31 6 797 444
33 32 6 793 651
33 32 6 793 652
33 30 6 861 221 (2)

I have that exact one, big difference. I was surprised. The rear end doesn't feel sloppy anymore.

Can I ask what suspension mods you’ve done? Sometimes cornering on rough roads I get a bit of skip/hop/jump and even going over thicker road paint I get some side-to-side shimmy in the rear. Wondering if this helps with that

So the big question I have for these folks is if they replaced their rear subframe to chassis bushings before or after installing this rear subframe brace?

For those that haven't, is this fix not getting at the real problem which is the rear subframe not feeling directly connected to the chassis which is "corrected" in the M cars?

I just have the rear cross brace. I had stock shocks and eibach lowering springs. That's all I had for mods.

Now I have B4 Bilstein shocks and eibach lowering springs.

Yes, it DOES help the hop/jump.

Thanks for the update

I was wondering what made the biggest difference for you, the shocks or the brace?

Or were they installed at the same time?

I would say the braces made a huge difference in just steering/cornering. Shocks more of the ride, yes they helped with cornering tho. The rear end of the F30 are pretty sloppy. The brace helped that a lot!

Thanks my guy - totally agree, the rear is way too sloppy, especially lowered

Will look into this mod for sure

[Ivilla035]: please tell me if you agree: after I installed the Rolls Performance Mid Chassis brace the car feels like the road is always flat, even when its not. I also have rwd and same gen as you. thanks.

Not sure of what you mean "car feels like the road is always flat". Can you describe what you are feeling (Steering/Chassis)?

fair question. when car was oem I didn't feel back of car much, as in switching lanes I got some sway. bilstein b6 all around and car felt more stable with little sway. added m performance lsd and felt rear end respond to lower/higher surfaces. after adding the Rolls brace I no longer feel the lower/higher surfaces, just no sway and 'flat' feeling when switching lanes. I am asking if this is what others have experienced. I may have to change lanes quickly at 80 or 90mph and drive slow (compared to the maniacs around here

I did the 4 series brace with solid aluminum subframe inserts and M Performance suspension with red springs, shocks, struts and included top hats and bump stops on my 2014 335i. Made a world of difference. I was going to sell the vehicle before doing this and now it’s the best handling vehicle I’ve owned including my E36 M3 and previous 2006 Evo IX.

I suppose 3, 4 or any series it all depends on where and how you drive and what you like. I know the 3x series is definitely not an m car, just surprised that a little bracing can change things so much. Also noted that my car had no V bracing, only the small connecting piece #18 on the diagram, without the 2 long pieces:
