255 squared 788m on xDrive
Hey I have a 435 x drive that will be lowered on eibach pro kit springs. Thinking of running 788m which are 19x9 and 19x10 and was wondering if 255/35or40 squared on those wheels will work. I know the rear will stretch a little bit but am also a fan of subtle tire stretch. Any help would be appreciated.

as you've already stated, the front will fit nice but the rear will be moderately stretched. if there's going to be stretch, it'll look better if the front is stretched and rear is not.
here is 255/35/19, stretched on 10 ET40 rear. personally, i don't like it https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=293 since you're lowering, i suggest one of these two setups, either will NOT cause problem with x-drive 245/35/19(25.8")+285/35/19(25.7") https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...5&postcount=20 https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=321 or, recommend 235/40/19+265/35/19 https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=282 if you really want 255 up front, here an F30xdrive with 255/35/19+265/35/19 on 788M. it's at the 1% limit, still ok and less stretched at rear. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...highlight=788m . edit...yes you are correct, it's 265/35/19 rear. the stretch with 255 will look even worse . Last edited by alohasurftoad; 03-21-2023 at 01:16 PM.. |

Tire was mounted incorrectly in link above. Link below has 255/35 on 19"@ET40. Stretch doesnt appear too bad but it's not how i'd roll, regardless. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...9&postcount=46 . Last edited by alohasurftoad; 03-21-2023 at 03:47 PM.. |

p=25034037&postcount=257 @ ET29 tires will rub at full lock due to width or height. most 255/35/19 will NOT rub, however there's always a possibility it will graze the fenderwell liner during full-turn under compression and if the tire is broadly shaped, such as track tires. F36 gran coupes also seem to have most rubbing potential, as two members reported grazing fenderwell liner at full-lock with 235/40/19. again, imo i'd still choose one of these staggered setups. 235/40/19+265/35/19 or 245/35/19+285/30/19 if lowered they'll have least interference problems and the f&r diameter difference is easy on the x-fer case. |

if you had the budget and facility(storage), it'd be way better to have a dedicated 18" track setup $2.3k for wheels/tires/tpms |

alohasurftoad thanks for all your help! i finally got my 255 squared set up on the 788m. I like the back but the front is a little aggressive but can be due to the 4s thicker shoulders. They do rub up front occasionally under very certain circumstances but don’t think it is of worry.

Thanks! It’s a rw carbon spoiler. I’ve actually been debating taking it off so I would consider selling it if you made an offer. I’ve had it for two years and no signs of it yellowing. It’s also been ceramic coated
