Just become a BMW owner having stayed on the darkside with Audi/VW for the last few decades

Got myself into a 2017 435d F36 (awesome btw) which from my current research, has an outdated firmware - NBTevo_L...., and no Carplay activated either.

So correct me if I'm wrong here, but there's no point activating Carplay via USB as it will only be half screen, not ideal. To get full screen I should flash the firmware to a newer version ie. X or Y, then activate Carplay with Enet so I can get Carplay in full screen. Any 'how-to' on this welcome.

Sound logical before I fry my brain digging into the knowledge base of everything E-sys?

Also, I don't seem to have a setting to change this, but could I code the car to turn off the stereo when I've turned the engine off, and then open the door? Seems weird to me that it keeps on playing until I lock the car Or presumably turns itself off after 10-15 minutes.

The radio keeps playing untill you lock the car or after a couple minutes.
Or after you push the stop button ones again. Like you turn the key all the way back in a “old “ car. 1 turn, ignition off, 2 turns, all off.
