I don't dislike CARMAX after the X drive not xdrive sale fell apart and found a 2017 BMW 330i X Drive M-Sport at CARMAX with B46 and Sport Automatic Gearbox, Prof Nav. The first day driving to work in the new 330 the low coolant warning came on so i ended the listing and left the 330 it at my mechanic hoping for the best.

Definitely get it checked out and make use of the 30 (or is it 60?) day warranty that CarMax offers, I bought another car from them years ago knowing that there were a few hard to fix leaks and that the engine was under recall from Subaru- ended up with CarMax putting several thousand of labor and repairs in so that the Subaru dealer could test for oil consumption and ultimately put a new engine in- all at no cost to me with just the regular warranty they offer. Get your 330i looked over really good and diagnosed and take it to CarMax to get them to fix, often (it was my experience at least) for a more complicated car or repair they will take it to the dealer themselves to have it repaired on their dime, so don’t worry too much yet!

Yeah thanks, I have it at my BMW mechanic and provided him with the 30 day warranty paperwork and I also have a ten day return policy that I do not want to need to use. I just hope it's not a huge problem. The coolant was low. the car has 34k miles and sat for a big part of it's life.

Am I way too high on the sale of the 320i link. $14,900?

hmmm….that is concerning. I may be uninformed, but I thought CarMax warranty work had to be performed by CarMax. Am I wrong?

Surely it’s just not showing up in the photo you posted, but it looks like the silver 330i has regular halogen headlights. I’m sure it has LEDs because they were standard in 2017, but in the photo they don’t look like LEDs.

Your car looks great and is very well equipped, but at 120,000 miles you are probably overpriced by about $2,000.

I was told that warranty work can be performed at an approved place either mechanic or BMW dealer. I live one hour away from the CARMAX I purchased the car at so I am never going to go back there unless I have to. If you buy MAXCARE then you have to go there for the work.

I did some research and as crazy as it sounds, those LED lights were not standard on base models. The MDECODER has LED fog lights option but not headlamps.

I recently put another 4k in the 320 but you are right 2k over for sure.

That is really weird! This is the only 2017 I’ve ever seen without LEDs. I’m going to do some research. I really hate to rain on your parade, but, personally, I could not go from having LEDs back to halogens. But, I’m very headlight sensitive. Since I’ve been buying BMWs Xenon and LED headlights have been one of my requirements. Lack of them is a deal breaker for me.

I have always been exactly like that. Xenon and LED only. I decided when I saw only 34K miles AND sport automatic gearbox which was hard to find on the 330i that I can live without the LED lights. Plus TBH they have a light on the bottom edge that looks pretty cool. The auto gearbox is amazing and I certainly feel a difference from the 320 S805 . Due to not trading in the 320, I got to be honest, the M Sport is a stripper except for the few items I mentioned and the 17 320 I still have is very very comfortable and luxurious. The new one has no ease of access either but the suspension feels great. I don't know if it is upgraded.

Well, 34,000 miles is a pretty big plus!! It has all of the most important stuff. The suspension would be the same as yours from the factory. There are good headlight bulb upgrades available today.

Congrats on the new car!! Post some more photos!!

See if you can push him up to $12,500 - $12,750.

it didn't take long. i was rear ended by a 2011 Volvo XC90 at 45 MPH on Rt 8 south in Thomaston by 18 to girl. She was crying and worried about her dad. i told her to tell her dad I am not calling turantla and turantula and i am not injured. The trunk and M Sport bumper and trunk lid were toast. Luckily the rear quarters did not crease and the rear door spacing is still perfect. I just got it back and had a 2024 Volvo S60 as a rental. That was huge. The last pic is the repair. it seems as the rear bumper blends better now. I was spiraling while waiting to find out if it was wrecked. My garage door opener went from front visor to back window. the sunroof shade opened on impact. I am so glad my F30 time isnt over yet. I looked for that car for so long. Cheers

Thanks brother. I have some good pics coming. I didn’t realize earlier that a couple scratches ended up in the paint repair area and are gone, also in my daze from the hole experience, the rental was a 223 Audi A6 with lane departure warning that shakes the steering which was vey weird. The F30 is my last chance as closest to old school E46 feel. The car looks better! Pics coming soon 👍🏼

Why would you swap and lose thousands to buy the exact same car with a different map on its ECU? It’s uneconomical - remap the 320i you currently have and keep it for a couple of years so its depreciation is worth it.

It’s just a complete waste of money

The 320i xdrive was built as a luxury sedan. I’m 100% sure it’s not the same suspension on my 330i.m sport. I don’t mod cars other than a couple oem parts. My 320i had 122,000 miles. My 330i xdrive has 35,000 miles. The 320 is black. I wanted silver. I paid 17k for the 320 with 64k miles and sold it for $10k with 122,000 miles. I wanted a car with m400 wheels and m sport oem body. I had 658 wheels on the 320. I loved the 320 and it served its purpose. It’s not even close to the same car. I paid the 320 off eotking and will have the 330 paid within one year. If it makes you happy is all that should matter. Inlooooooove my 330i xdrive m sport and I think I might start sleeping in the garage on the floor next to it.

Thanks man appreciated. I notice you don’t have the m sport black rocker sticker. I bought a set but on the fence. Any thoughts on the black m sport rocker. I had it on my 13 328 m sport. Opinions appreciated. Thanks

I think they look good. I think it looks good either way. I guess I kind of prefer without for my car, but they definitely add a little bit of sporty character. I really like the small lip spoiler on the trunk that my ZHP had and the F80 M3 and the G20 M340i have, so I bought one recently and I’m going to have it painted and installed soon.
