Hi all,

So I had the lates iDrive update (TN-003.255.080) and I reverted back to original one (TN-003.003.001) via the car settings, thinking it was the cause of an issue.

Turns out, it wasnt

Now I would like to go back to the latest, but since I can only search via VIN pn BMW sw update website, they still thinks im on the new SW due to the 3G comm. disconnect.

Where can I manually download this sw so i can re-update my car?

I believe i can also use VIN numbers of cars that didntt do the upgrade... so if anyone can guide me to a database that would also help

Ok so i think i may have found a solution.
I crossed referenced that my TN SW is bundled in UPD05081.bin update
Then i was able to find a link that bypasses the BMW SW VIN check and gets direct access to the files:

Now I have the SW on the USB and i'll go try it out shortly!

Very helpful! Your URL got chopped up so it's invalid but I found it elsewhere using the beginning part. I also reverted to the default iDrive version which was a bad mistake! I tried to use the same exact BIN file you posted on my 2018 330i. The car said it was not compatible with that version when I put the USB drive in.

I tried the website too but it thinks the latest is installed - which is wrong. Does anyone know which BIN file I should download directly from the BMW site like the previous post? Here is my specific car info:

Edit:
I see there is a file that is returned on the BMW software update page (use dev tools network tab in your web browser to see it). It says the name and URL for every possible USB update file. Another request says the properties of the car and parameters for the USB update compatibility. It looks like my car cannot have any further updates via USB. I also noticed that the version of media and telephone in my car magically updated to a newer version of iDrive. I guess this is from the car phone number communication with the BMW servers? Just sharing my knowledge here in case someone gets this far.

I would love to know that too! We'd need someone with an active telecom module (not on 3G) to let us know... but at that point it might be a different SW for them.

Personally, since everything is working fine, i wouldnt mess with it... there's no new features ayways
