Just hit 69k and bought it at 67k so far Iv had to replace the Tcase and TPMS Receiver Module.
I think that’s do to previous owners negligence and inability to maintain the vehicle, besides those two repairs it’s been going swimmingly. I do have the front thrust bushings that need to be replaced but motor wise it’s happy and even more so now that it’s been converted for “off road use” |

Just purchased a f31 328d with 93k miles on it. No obvious problems besides the engine mounts needing to be replaced. Engine sounds really healthy but shakes quite a bit. Already ordered a new brake kit, stealth kit, and usual maintenance i do when i first buy a use vehicle. Carfax showed the car was dealer maintained religiously until 60k, from 60k to 93k basically nothing. So i am going to assume only oil changes were done during that period. Hopefully i will be able to comment on this thread @ 150k

n00bkiller944 - you still have that used DPF? I guess my wife wants a house now so it looks like i'm gonna need it. I figure i can get to 300k by year end if i try hard enough. 284k today as i recently found myself driving from NYC to Buffalo weekly for work.
I think that's basically the only issue although it seems like it drinks more DPF than in the past, seems to want a refill twice every oil change when the countdown rarely if ever came up previously. nbd unless that is a sign of other stuff going wrong. Truth is it still looks pretty new other than the front grill. Also, my headlamps are so pitted it definitely loses visibility in the dark but still manageable. Kinda want to see where this ends now.. |

LOL! Congrats on the purchase low mileage delorean, high mileage 328d. If you haven't watched Legitstreetcars youtube channel he got a delorean and did some awesome work to it. Worth checking out his series on it |

Thanks - i'll check out the channel for sure. Oil changes every 10k (usually 9500-ish). Always at the dealer. The local dealership did an unlimited special for 3 years for $199 so I finally get to hit them back quarterly and remind them that was a bad idea lol. I love when they try to add the DPF for $75 and I politely tell them i'm all set.
...oh, collection is definitely not mine but i needed a place to store the D. There is an F40 in there you can barely see past that Orange GT3. Sometimes i go there and just stare at it. We may need to discuss that DPF unit as i'm up for CT emissions in October and they won't even test with the CEL on. I have a local guy that said he "might" let me purchase a used one and have him install but didn't love the idea. Honestly if i can't get the emissions approved I'm not sure how to go forward because i won't spend $4k on a new DPF on this car. |

I have repaired mine 2x.. .1x under warranty and the 2nd at my cost. I have a good transmission shop here in Toronto. Cost me $1500 to repair... dealer wanted 11K to replace it. I laughed when I heard it. I learned that the key to the transfer case issue is to change the oil in it once a year. Ever since I have kept with that routine I have had no issues. I have 182K KMs on my 2014 328D xDrive.

Just hit 155k miles on my 14' 328d Xdrive. Oddly only a few issues.
Rear nox sensor at 100k and dealer wanted $3500 to change both because "they were the old version". 1 month later when I was making my 75 mile one way drive to work at 4:30am, traveling at about 82mph, a SUV passed me and hit a massive buck sending it into my lane. Luckily it was down when I went over it and only destroyed the bottom of the bumper, fog light, took a skid plate out, and the part that made me happy.. it ripped out the rear nox sensor. Body shop didn't understand why I was claiming it on insurance (~$1,500 quote) until they saw the price of that sensor from bmw (over $900). Had a noisy injector then check engine code at 112k miles that a little diesel kleene has kept at bay. I'll be changing them soon just because. Current issues: My a/c would randomly blow hot and the blower would go from hight low high low then be fine for a while and do it again. Was not freezing up and dealer said excessively hot days would cause a high pressure and an internal compressor fault would cause it to disengage. (Does not make sense since it would be randomly fine on some days where temps were +100f on a 1-2hr drive. Declined the.. get this.. $4,700 quote to replace the compressor). I evaced the system and recharged. Was fine till last month.. Last month while on a trip, a kid tossed a brick off an overpass while I was on the interstate and it almost came completely through the windshield. Police never caught them and where I live, windshields are not a free deductible. Also, no dealer within 3hr drive and Safelite couldn't fix for a few days and since I was traveling it had to be fixed (there was a full hole through glass) so I used a random glass shop, all was fine until now and my defrost is full blast blowing heat randomly on 100f days or just dropping off ac. Only code is for the condensation sensor that bmw wants $487 for. I keep getting a code the reduction in brightness due to temp on my headunit, but I've never seen it dim so I don't worry about it. Other than all that, I wish bmw still made the diesel. I do a ton of travel and this car has been the absolute best thing for me. I changed the transmission, transfer case, and both diffs at 75k and 150k. Will do next rounds at 50k most likely. Oil has always been at 5k miles. |
