Frontal Collision Warning & Lane Departure Warning - Retrofit coding (F31)
Hey y'all!
First post on this forum and have a few questions regarding my latest project which is to retrofit Frontal Collision Warning & Lane Departure Warning to my F31 (2018). The buttons/panel for these two functions are on their way. My car is equipped with a KAFAS2 camera and I already have Speed limit information (SLI) installed from factory. I also checked behind the driver's side air vent and I have the "KAFAS cable" prewired for the buttons. Watch this video if you don't know which cable I mean: Prewired KAFAS cable The car is also equipped with the M-Sport steering wheel and I have seen that the vibration motor for LDW is already installed. In other words, all the hardware must be in place as soon as I connect the buttons for FCW & LDW right? So it should only be the coding that remains or am I missing something? I've been trying to read up on what to code to make these functions work but it feels like everyone is talking about different things and I only get more confused when I try to research this. I'm better at installing hardware and tinkering with the car than I am at coding. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's possible to code these functions with Bimmercode as it's the only code software I have at the moment. If it is possible to do this retrofit with Bimmercode alone, would some kind soul here on the forum tell me exactly what parameters I need to code? Always afraid to either code too much and destroy something with the software in the car, so I've always had respect for this type of tasks. Thanks in advance! |

You will need to buy a FSC : AppID 190 (BE) – Front Collision Warning (FCW FSC F Chasis) and add 5AD to the VO. Code FEM, ICM, KAFAS, KOMBI and HU. The FSC goes in the KAFAS.

Do you have any tips/guides on how to find a FSC and install it to the car? Like I said i'm pretty clueless when it comes to this. |

There is EBay sites where you can purchase the FSC codes like this one : https://www.ebay.de/itm/203328752058?var=503848774529 . You only need the "Auffahrwarner 0xBE". The installation is done with E-Sys as is the coding.

One last question: When I google "AppID 190" and the FSC code it only says "Front Collision Warning". Is "Lane Departure Warning" included in that code or is that another FSC code? |

Front Collision Warning is a part of Lane Departure Warning. You don`t need any other fsc

Your car is a 2018-that means that you have the KAFAS2 system. For that version you NEED the FSC for the Front Collision Warning or Auffahrwarner in german. The option to code is 5AS.

Hi bellmano,
I have a 2013 330D with a Factory KAFAS2 camera and HUD SLI. I don't have any driver assistant button. For now, do I already have the 2 buttons and the panel? Just for the parts inside the steering wheel, do I need to also buy the control module beside the vibration motor? |

That is all you need for HW including the module next to the motor, exsept for a SZL that has the power wire in the clock spring.
The wires for the assistance bottons are located near the wires going to the light switch folded back and taped to the wiring harness. Rest is coding. |
