I just experienced this @ BMW Peabody. Nothing, repeat nothing, can be on plate with new inspection protocol.

BMW CCA magazine just wrote about it. Local columnist Joseph Chamberlain did a piece on the changes in Mass.

Know if this article is online? Couldn't find it.

Someone reversed into me and broke my front license plate mount, was waiting for the insurance to handle all its business so I didn't buy a new mount, got pulled over 2 times in 4 weeks by state police and had to explain each time, both times got a warning.

Judging by your handle you were driving an e90, and probably not stock? I've had this f30 since may and have had an old Germany province plate on the front about a week after purchase. Never stopped yet. This is also my third car with this kind of plate. Never been stopped for it in about a decade of driving with one. It's only been mentioned at the inspection station once or twice.

Hey everyone I wanted to revive this old thread. I just got an f31 and I hate the idea of putting front plate on my M sport bumper. Fow now I still have temporary tags since I bought it out of state and haven’t been stopped for running no front plate, but how likely are BPD to pull you over for no front plates. For context I live in the Everett area but I do a lot of work between Arlington, Somerville, Woburn, and Beacon Hill. Thanks!

I use to use the one above on my F30...you mount the bracket on the bottom of your bumper and then slide the license plate bracket into place.. easily removed for car washes too.

I don't get it. Everyone has front plates. What's the big deal? Other than silly vanity.
