Need Help - DIY Exhaust Modification

What?s up guys, I needed help figuring out what would be the right diameter for a resonator delete on my 2015 Bmw 335i xdrive. I just got this car and i tried doing research some people are saying 3? and some are saying 3.15? what would be better? because I will be getting this done at my co-op placement. I just need to buy the stainless steel pipe, but I don?t know if i should get it welded on with the the pipe over the pipe or with the pipe side by side with the pipe. pls help me out guys i am very confused.

It's probably easiest to just take it to an exhaust shop. My local shop charged 90% for parts and labor. The exhaust is oval in some places FYI, i cant say the exact dia.

I’m on a budget so I thought it was best if i’d just buy the pipe and get it welded on by my co-op placement, my co-op doesn’t specifically specialize in exhaust modifications but they do them, and if I were to get it done at my co-op i’d only be paying for the pipe, that’s why I was asking!

The Turner kit shows 80mm (3.15") pipe with clamps at each end. Probably easier than trying to butt weld a 3" pipe.
