123511 Stiff EWG Wastegate

Update:
Had a new waste gate installed didnt require removing or changing the turbo

Orginal
So I was driving and had a drivetrain malfunction. Turned the car off and on and it disappeared and drove fine all the way home.

2014 335i EWG

Stage 1 BM3
Intake
Ctles Dp

What is causing this?
What should my next steps be?
Would this require a new turbo? Or just changing the wastegate actuator?

Is it actually a problem? If you clear the code does it come back? Did you datalog or notice any performance difference?

I dont feel any performance issues. But the drivetrain malfunction is annoying if it pops up

I put the car back onto its stock tune then re tuned it and haven't received the error. "Knock on wood"

give it a while and see. if it doesn't come back try reflashing the map and see what happens. may have been an error during the flash.

He said he already retuned it? In other words he went to stock, then re flashed the tune. But i agree it may just take time to come back.

yeah I see that now. I must have misunderstood what he said. but if that's all it was and hasn't come back then maybe... hopefully he's all good now.

Take the actuator arm off the wastegate. Does the flap move easily inside the turbo? Yes - replace the actuator, No - Replace the turbo.
